Hideo Kojima tweets 'ZOE 3DS' logo

Prolific Twitter user and occasional game designer Hideo Kojima posted the above picture last night on his Twitter account, saying only, "Found this at Omori-kun's desk. What's this?" Yes, the Jehuty figure is pretty breathtaking, but something even more interesting can be found behind it: a "Z.O.E. 3DS" logo, with the "3DS" a subtle alteration of the mirrored ZOE logo. Part of another logo can be seen to the left, revealing "...bis: 2" That is perhaps a reference to Anubis, the Japanese name for Zone of the Enders 2.

This ZOE logo could be anything: a ported Zone of the Enders game for 3DS (like Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater); a new sequel (as in "Zone of the Enders 3" in the west and "Anubis: 2" in Japan); or a canceled project that never made it past the "really cool logo" stage. Furthermore, Kojima could just be messing with his followers.

ZOE 3 Please!

At last! The 3DS's killer app!... (is a sequel to a PS2 game practically no one bought, and those that did only because it was a near-launch title when there were no other games around).

Now now, Zone of the Enders had a lot more going for it than just that... it was the game that came free with the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo...

@Dick Socrates I actually bought a copy of Zone of Enders (used @ Gamestop) because I thought I looked interesting. At that point most people were buying the game for the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo, and the sales clerk mentioned that most of the games weren't being traded in without the demo. Surprisingly, the copy I bought did have the demo.

I like playing ZOE, it was a fun game -- can't wait to see what's in store for the 3DS title.

ugh if this is a nintendo game what an enormous disappointment.

Nintendo is a game company, not a specific system. Also, I'm pretty sure any game system has the ability to play host to good games.

The logo thing is REALLY clever. I wonder which came first - like, did some designer come up to Kojima, 'hey look, if we make a ZOE logo like this and flip it around, it nearly says 3DS' and they decided then and there to make the game? :)

I've been saying, what ever happened to ZOE. I guess it wasn't relevant anymore since it wasn't just another Call of Duty clone.
But I'm excited to see another one, and always thought ZOE would be great on the 3DS.
This is the type of title that will actually get me to purchase a 3DS.

anyway its probably a remake of the original game for 3ds like the remake of snake eater they are doing

@aconrad777 I heard rumors of a remake, but that's okay. I'd much rather prefer a new game, but I'll take a remake at this point.

A remake would be more in line with the 3DS software lineup though.

That "3DS" backwards kinda makes it look like ZOE.

I loved the old ZOE games.... But does it have to be on the 3DS? Didn't they just lower the price really far 'cause no one was buying it?

@(Unverified) No one bought it because it was too expensive, hence the price drop. Also there aren't many games for it out yet but that should be remedied within the next few months.

This series doesn't do a lot for me, but the more quality software on the 3DS the better.

It would be a real letdown to have this be a remake if it is official.

I mean, the 3 is in the name. No way in hell should it be a remake.

If it says Anubis 2, than it isn't a remake.

Based on the figure, I'm willing to bet it's a 3DS port of ZOE1. Or maybe a new spinoff like Fist of Mars.

Why? Why can't they keep spin-offs on home consoles? I don't want to buy a 3ds to find out what happens this is my favorite game from the ps2 days I'm dissapointed. I want my remakes naow.

My favorite thing about Zone of Enders is that each robot has an enormous... cockpit.

The mech designs crack me up to this day. Apparently I'm 12.

You should go look up some Transformers porn, robots do not have the same sex anatomy as living creatures. Trust me when I say you would not be comfortable doing the "reverse dumptruck" pose.

hmmm.. I was sure I wasn't getting a 3DS ... funny that.

That would be fantastic. Hopefully it's not a port, a card trading game or a... dare I say it. Mini-game collection.

I guess I know another series I loved on the PS1/PS2 that I won't be buying. MM Legends 3 was the other, but since it won't be released it doesn't really matter.

I bought a car today, but THIS made my day!
