Done did all the dueling you could in Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012? Wizards of the Coast is looking to inject some new life into the downloadable title with a new expansion pack come September 14. Titled "Ascend into Darkness, the DLC will include fresh art, new cards for each deck, three new playable decks and several new campaign levels – six single-player levels and eleven Archenemy levels in all.
On top of that, players will also be able to take up the titular role of Archenemy – both locally and via online multiplayer match. Archenemy mode, for the unaware, pits three players against an overpowered opponent. Ral Zarek, a new Planeswalker, will also be included in the DLC.
The only thing we don't know right now is the price, but given that the expansion will be playable at PAX Prime later this month, we'll be sure to bug the guys at the booth.

Yes, I am really looking forward to this. The electronic version is fun and does not cost an arm & a leg to play.

But did they make it so you can't see the deck your opponents are using in the multiplayer yet? Counter picking is like the worst thing about this game. THE WORST!

@Altairio
True that. I've heard that a fix for counter picking was in the works. I really hope they do this soon.

I am gonna go out on a limb and say 400 MS bucks, since the 3 expansions for the original were that price.

The tutorial is not a great representation of DotP 2012.
You really just have to buy the game and play several rounds to get the hang of it. Once you do, it's a blast.

Hey Joystiq,
If your gonna get some play time on it and the devs are there can you ask them why they thought being able to see what your opponents are picking was a good idea?
I have about 10-15 ppl on my list that were hardcore magic players on the old Magic DotP. We used to stay up all night long playing matches online. We always got on around 12am EST and would be playing till like 6am EST.
But sadly ever since this new Magic 2012 came out almost no one plays anymore, including myself. They changed to many good things about the old game that made it appealing.
Here's hoping the new decks, and the 4 new cards to each existing deck adds so life back into this game.
