If they refuse to sell you a game you want. Refuse to let them sell you their next piece of hardware.

Oh yeah, I fully subscribe to that.
At present the WiiU is dead to me and the 3DS is still in a holding pattern pending decent games.

Are you kidding me? All of these games are being localized in english and they still are not coming to NA? This is just ridiculous.

It is, I wouldn't be surprised if they were holding out on these for updated Wii U launch releases.

@RasenganFury Wii hacks are your best friend. No more forced updates, no more having to update via discs, no more region locking, heck, no more having to pop discs in the DVD ROM. I already made backups of my legally purchased Wii games, made it so the Wii will not update via online or from a new game disc. Heck, I can now play The Last Story, Xenoblade and Pandora's Tower all without having to suffer from NOA's asininity.

They haven't been confirmed yes/no for North America. NoA is just being stupidly silent about the matter.

They pull some Bullcrap WiiU updated launch release crap and I can honestly say that Nintendo will be the first console manufacturer to earn a spot on my boycott list right next to EA. Hell right now as the whole situation with Xeno and the Last story are unresolved I've decided that I'm not going anywhere near the WiiU.

Which is really going to suck because I have owned literally Every single Nintendo console up to this point (variants not included, I owned a DS not a DSi) and generally loved the hell out of them.

I normally have no sympathy for anyone advocating modding and pirating on their consoles, but NOA's insane refusal to allow people to buy their games leaves gamers no other option. I'm very tempted to hack my Wii so I can finally play my games off a hard drive and make it region free. If NOA doesn't want me to buy their games, then fine, I won't buy them.

@SisypheanLife You don't have to pirate these games to play them: if you make your Wii region free, you can then play a legal hard copy.

@SisypheanLife Tell me, how is hacking a console in order to play a legally purchased game off a hard drive considered piracy? Hacking, es. But not piracy. Piracy is associated with downloading copyrighted products that you don't own. NOA is promoting this by not releasing these games; I just might download the game off the internet.

I may need a reminder, but what exactly is NOA doing to stop people like me from doing this? Now, I'm trying to see if I remember how to care about NOA as a whole......nope, I guess not. Oh, well. Looks like I'll have to do this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLIC0gXA2bw

At least they are getting localized and importing for the console is fairly easy.

Oh god, I'm turning into a European gamer circa ten years ago.

Yea, it's funny, NoE used to be a crappy Nintendo and NoA was a good one, and lately it seems as though the roles have reversed.

Blame Reggie?

@Dickhole Pasta, I did that, but symbolically. How? By going against NOA's wishes and "violating" the so-called EULA by making the Wii region free. What are they gonna do about it? Nothing.

So basically, NoE is making an actual effort to keep the Wii alive in 2012, while NoA is perfectly content to let it die. Nice business plan, NoA!!

Thats pretty much why the WiiU isn't a factor at all in my next gen console purchases ..... If they are going to go this rout with the Wii, why should I have any faith in them with the WiiU.

Can you not just wait for the American release schedule before getting worked up. There is no way they are not going to release these games in the USA especially after the reviews two of them received. Maybe in Europe we may also get the most recent Tingle game on the DS :-)

I'm from the UK and I will be buying all 3 of these games on day 1, as will many other people. Don't worry America, Nintendo would be VERY stupid not to release these games over there, especially since the English localisation is finished.

Usually it's Europe that gets screwed, I guess it's because games released here need to also be translated into French, Spanish, German etc. We didn't get Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger & Cross, Earthbound, Final Fantasy 1,4,6 (the first FF we got was FF7), Xenogears, Dragon Quest 7......

We'll see how this goes. NoA has been cagey for years, but Reggie has also been semi-proven to be incompetent when gauging the desires of the market of Wii owners beyond the people he was hired to cowtow to, the mass market non-gaming family group they wanted to add into the mix. He had and still has no idea how to respect the group that has been there going back into the 1980s at all. It's clear watching some repeatedly stupid comments and behavior year after year at E3 and other events and interviews, then doubletalking around it like things will happen and yet still they don't.

I'm not writing the mess off yet, but for me Last Story was my top one as I trust the makers work, Xenoblade was second and the other could just fade as I wouldn't pay for that. As it stands if they don't come I'm either going to do what has always been unthinkable for me to do, hack my console, and from there decide if importing a disc+home brew channel or just downloading it out of spite would be my best options. It will depend on likely their comments, behavior, but also timing up against the new system and IF I decide to run out there and get it.

Wii outside of the mass market thing they went for was a failure to old Nintendo gamers in part. Super Mario, Metroid, and Zelda(looks to) hold up well, but then they jacked up Kart and Brawl over the last releases, and other stuff came up poor too. Trust is broken on software with me, and hardware too, along with third party honesty with all the huge lies to manipulate people like me into wasting cash on b-team trash for a few years. If it still didn't seem unfathomable to me to do it due to child years loyalty I'd sell the damn Wii as I can even on fun games barely tolerate to turn it on more than once a month because of all the lost money and disappointments and that's new grounds entirely.
