I'm looking forward to this game. Hoping with the low price point a lot of my friends will get it with me. Love the idea of being a mercenary for the Eve players (a game I have never played)

I've never been into MMO's such as EVE, but damn, this game is definitely starting to make me believe that I won't be getting any sleep when this game comes out next year.

It is. I just wonder if we gotta buy it 2 times... luckaly its only $20. But the accounts would be linked so does that mean we would get $40 in game credit???

Is there any chance at all that CCP will make a PC version for the people who dont want to play EVE? I would like to be a ground based warrior for the EVE people, just not on PS3.

I think there's a chance, but it definitely be at or anywhere close to launch. I have a ps3 and I'm also quite the fan of CCP and as excited as I am, I still find it strange that this is only a ps3 release instead of ps3 AND pc.

I can't imagine CCP completely skipping over the PC as a potential platform for this game simply because it just doesn't make sense IMO.

@PrimeSynergy

I think Sony probably approached them or got talking them directly somewhere somehow, either way, Sony convinced them to try something on PS3, after all, PS3 is trying to push MMOs of all sorts, so it's not so unrealistic a theory. At the moment it's exclusive, but if it gets popular, we may just see a PC version as well, that all depends on whether or not Sony decided to buy the license to the IP liek they did for Suckerpunch games before they went exclusive as well as Heavenly Sword.

To be honest, if this game turns out to be all that it is piped up to be, Sony will have yet another killer app in its collection and why not ensure the game is born on PS3 first at least? It works for Sony and it gives CCP PS3 development skills they would not have otherwise acquired.

Looks like a win win to me

Definitely interested in this one. Love the cross-platform integration. EVE Online isn't easy to figure out, but is definitely an interesting universe. Being able to be shock-troops/mercenaries for the Corporations should be fascinating.

There needs to be a bar where pilots and mercs and meet. Do business if not shoot each other.

@Godmars I quite like this idea. That could be applied to everything in EVE, though. It would make some transactions longer, but having to meet in person...Although it's already like that when you buy ships and other high value cargo, AFAIK. I mean, you have to get to the same station.

@Godmars there will be one. its part of the current expansion to EVE itself, with a lot of things being moved to face-to-face meetings instead of remote transactions.

search for incarna, thats the walking in stations part of eve online

@Kimchi Kommando When you get the game, you pay $20 for the game. At that point, you can play the game forever without paying a single dollar ever again. You are also immediately credited $20 worth of in-game microtransaction credits, so you can by weapons, armor, and whatever.

My question is, how much control over where the fire support lands, does your friend in orbit have? I want to know if we'll be seeing scenes like from the cutscene, where the Moros sitting in orbit drops a whole load of rods from god on the mercs he hired to pull the operation off.

@(Unverified) I'm guessing the pilot in orbit doesn't control where it lands, just when it fires (good opportunity for scams and backstabbing, which is prevalent in Eve Online). The ground troop probably picks a place for the beam to land and the pilot pushes buttan to fire.

I just want to know if SOE is going to pull the same BS that they pulled with DCUO, where the game is region locked! Does anyone know if this is the case with this game as well?

@(Unverified) EVE has a single universe. No servers, no different regions. This means that for simple practical reasons, DUST will have to work in that single universe, no different servers/regions as well.

This isn't an SOE game. It's a CCP game that's, I'm assuming, is published by SCEA.

The scale of conflict could be huge. Two corporations fighting over the same world will have to via for control of that solar region to ensure that the ground mercenaries can complete the job without being bombarded by their rivals.

I was on fanfest this spring and CCP told that they where not interested in releasing a game as fast as possible to earn money, they say not all will be allowed to play in the beginning, just that tell us its going to be a diffrent game. And many of the mecanics from EVE will be in this game as well, clone loosing stuff and earn isk. Its going to be a team based gameplay and its going to be awsome. I think when you get past the first time in the game its going to be awsome and its going to be focused on 18+ players . its going to be fun and I cant wait for it to arrive.

I have played Eve going on 5 years. That game is unbelievable, wide open, unpredictable, and an adrenaline rush. You can do, and be, whatever you want, and that's no lie. If this game ties into that universe with the same infinite variety of interaction I am all in. As a matter of fact, I have never used a console gaming system in my 54 years, and I bought a PS3 so I can be ready to play when Dust comes out. I can't wait.
