I liked Dark Void!

I also love me some Portal so I'll keep my eyes on this.

LittleBigPortal? Levels are like portal but the create mode lets you make levels just like it?

I know the gaming press is looking for gaming personalities but following project managers doesn't mean a game will have any relation to the previous games that person worked on. It just means that person is good at getting a project done and with a certain amount of quality.

@FriedConsole Normally, yes. However, this statement is entirely out of context. Specifically, Kim Swift is a member of the very small team of Digipen students that developed the original Narbacular Drop prototype, which served as the launching point for Portal. If it had been someone inside Valve who had taken up management of the project, sure, you'd have a point. But we're talking gameplay mechanic conceptualization and execution here.

@FriedConsole Wait, what led you to believe that Kim Swift is or was a project manager? I've never heard of her being in that role at Valve or Airtight or on Narbacular Drop. She was a coder and level designer on Narbacular Drop and Portal, and since that game launche she's been credited in the press with being the lead designer of Portal, having come up with the idea of the companion cube and co-creating the character of GladOS with Erik Wolpaw. None of that sounds like "project manager."

I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt her and assume it's because you saw her credited as "team leader" or something like that which could be confused with "project manager." I really hope it's not because it's way more common in the game industry to find women as producers or project managers than as game designers or coders... because even if that's statistically true, it's no reason to make assumptions about someone.

Dark Void was disappointing? How? Graphics looked good to me. Controls felt good, with a couple exceptions. Voice acting was pretty good. Music was great. The game had some of the best dogfights I've ever experienced in a game. I'm really not "trolling" - I did enjoy it. That said, I'm interested in why it was so disappointing.
