Am I too much a geek if I point out the error that the Sulaco wasn't dispatched to "destroy a xenomorph infestation"... they were dispatched to discover the reason for loss of communications with the colony LV-426, with a possible concern for xenomorph presence because of Ripley's story.

Well, it says 2179, which is the year that Aliens and A3 take place in, and specifically mentions "hadley's hope" (props for that - watched the directors cut I see. hehe).
The game talks of another dispatch of marines after contact with the Sulaco was lost, so one has to assume that the sulaco text is specifically referring to Aliens.

Pretty sure this is not meant to be 'like' another game... it's meant to let people relive Aliens the movie from first person... the setting, the lighting, sound effects... all spot-on. The gameplay and objectives are almost an afterthought... I bet they all just relate back to moments in the movie. Would be nice if there's no shrieking little girl however.

@(Unverified) Multiplayer would be greatly appreciated, either a L4D or cooperative Hord mode, but something. Bonus points for player controlled aliens.
And the trailer is probably phrased like that so people who haven't seen the movie (30 years old at this point) are planted directly in the stream of things.

I'm looking forward to the game. But this trailer blows! One of the coolest franchises on the planet and this is the best trailer they can come up with?!
It looks so dated. The cheesy text crawl could have been 100 times better. The teaser was better, though not very original. Man, I hope they game is way better than it comes across in this.

I am so, genuinely thrilled that this game is becoming a reality. I know it's early days but already my hopes are unrealistically high. Having said that, as long as it's not ridiculously bad and it's co-op, it will still be incredible.

I know it's just a trailer but it already appears as if Gearbox understands the importance of placing the horror of the franchise above the action. I skipped the recent AVP because they seemed to miss the mark in this respect.
