Assassin's Creed: Revelations 'Ultimate Edition' bundle revealed by GameStop

You've got a hoodie drawn over your eyes, a hidden blade tucked under each sleeve, and you're a parkour master. Every evening you renew your vow to the order, quietly murmuring "Vittoria agli assassini" before retiring to bed. But as we all know, you're not a real Assassin's Creed fan without a miniature statuette of Leonardo da Vinci's flying machine and a plastic statue of elderly Ezio.

As it turns out, GameStop is offering just that in what it's calling the Assassin's Creed: Revelations "Ultimate Edition," which includes the contents of the pre-order-tied "Signature Edition" plus the aforementioned plastic items. That means it costs $40 more on consoles and PC ($100 and $90, respectively) for two plastic figures and ... a whole bunch of content that everyone else is getting for free with a pre-order.

But the stores will be ordered to remove the figures before selling because they sell action figures in the store too, and wouldn't want the competition.

$40 for a couple of plastic figures??? WEAK! There is no way to justify that.

Then I clicked the link and read the flying machine has a wingspan of 2 feet!

Now I want a big glider but can't decide if the fact it will probably just be cheap plastic is enough to put me off. Wood would have been nice.

I'm gonna play devils advocate and say.

Gamestop isn't a bad company, you guys are being too har...man I can't do that...My soul is cringing.

@hami83 even as devil's advocate you're wrong. They under-pay their employees, buy low and sell extremely high, and are in general an evil giant money hungry corporation.

@mistahnuff FYI - "buy low, sell high" is pretty much capitalism. Without it, you wouldn't have... well, anything you take for granted.

While GameStop still sucks, overpriced Limited/Collector's Editions are the fault of publishers and the people dumb enough to buy them. About 90% of these will be on clearance for much cheaper later. (Still finding Collector's Edition of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood at Best Buy, for example.)

Oh I still beat myself up for pre-ordering that...

To be fair, these are made by NECA and it would cost you around $40 to buy them separately(possibly a bit more). So, fgor someone like me who is going to get them anyway, this isn't such a bad deal... Especially considering these are Gamstop exclusives.

But yeah, I really do totally share the hate on Gamestop. Screw 'em!

@Mixer23 Where did it say they were Gamestop exclusives? These sort of special editions are usually sold everywhere; Gamestop just broke the news first.

Because the figures themselves were on display at Toy Fair 2011 as Gamestop exclusives. They had 1 other AC figure on display that was not. Whether or not these will be sold separately remains to be seen.

Still waiting for the hidden bracer blade edition. You'll poke your eye out kids and then some.

the signature edition is worth getting i am not so sure on this bundle i have the uncharted 3 collectors and batman collectors on pre order I don't know if i wanna get another CE

should be 80 dollars I agree 100 dollars (40 dollars for two plastic figures) is ridiculous

with Dark Souls you get ultimate edition for regular price. just have to preorder. so if one game can do it for no extra why cant they all?

@nevets79 Perhaps you haven't heard, but there's been a fair amount of concern over exactly what a Dark Souls pre-order is still getting you.

Is there anywhere that I can go to get the signature edition of the game (eh on statues) without having to buy it from Gamestop? They finally broke my camel's back.
