BloodRayne Betrayal bumped up to September 7 on XBLA

A few weeks ago, Majesco told us that the XBLA release of BloodRayne: Betrayal had been pushed back to October 6. However, we've heard a new date from someone who ought to know: Rayne herself. The heroic dhampir (or perhaps a PR person under her name) tweeted that the game will be out on XBLA September 7, just one day after the PSN release.

That's great news for XBLA users looking to blow up some fancy vampires with poisonous bites. It's slightly less great news for the PSN Play promotion, which loses the closest thing it had to a timed exclusive. You still get extra "gifts" with the PSN Play pre-order, though.

I have mine pre-ordered on PSN and can't wait! It's good news that Xbox 360 users will get theirs sooner than later! I'm happy for them!

sony should probably start paying developers for a year exclusive like microsoft does if they want to compete with the summer arcade... just saying cuz as it is now, PLAY is pretty much pointless o.o

@Knives Chau As someone who owns both platforms, I have to say that while the PS3's interface does a better job of presenting the games I own, and has a storefront that is easier to navigate, I really prefer the download speeds of the 360's storefront, and the ability to watch a DVD while a game is downloading in the background, so games that are not exclusive tend to be bought on the 360.

Seriously. My downloads from PSN crawl. And even when I set something to "Download in Backround" that download pauses when I put in a DVD.

Microsoft doesn't "pay" for anything. They offer a better rate for hosting and certifying their games. Not only that sales are better on XBLA and can be used to forecast sales on the more expensive-to-host-on platform (PSN). Fact is if the customer doesn't pay for it ain't nobody gonna pay for it. LIVE subsidizes bandwidth costs from small developers/publishers. Sony is doing a great job restructuring but they honestly had no idea what they were getting into with PSN.

Seems... like a coincidence that when the guy from Xbox says if it launches on another platform first it can't be on XBLA... Then, this happens? IDK,.

PSN users get to play the game with a non-shitty D-Pad.

@A Burger Wow. Really? The Dualshock 3's D pad is that much better? I'm going to have to emphatically disagree with you on that one.

Yeah the PS3 has a better d-pad, but I actually like using the analog stick for playing modern side-scrollers.

@ItsameMatt03 I think they're both crappy, and I'm glad the analog stick on both of them are good. Otherwise, I'd have long since bought a 3rd party controller for each system.

It really is a lot better, and this coming from a hardcore western gamer. The 360 has infinitely superior analogue sticks though. Concave stick with high tension vs convex with low tension. The floating d-pad on the 360 is annoying. I hated it when Nintendo tried on their secondary pad for the NES and I hate it still today.

@A Burger The new 360 dpad is better than PS3's crappy unconnected piece of junk. How anyone can choose the dualshock over ANYTHING is beyond me. I'd rather play with a 5600 controller.

Worked for 2 gens and still works now. I have no complaints, but if you want to split hairs, go right ahead.

@Cleric I like the dualshock controller fits my hand just fine and i have no problems dropping it or slipping out of my hand the dpad works great unlike the floating annoying dpad on the xbox I am used too the feel of the dualshock over the clunky xbox controller just my preference.

That's good. Timed exclusives need a punch in the face.

@lazurus I recently watched all 3 Bloodrayne movies back to back. They actually decline in quality...the sequels made me like the original. It's sad...

Thats good. I wasn't going to buy it because Gears 3 was coming out, and I was going to be too busy with that. Now that it is coming before the release date, will buy! YAAYY!
