Dumb release date. Who is going to buy this Sept. 20 when so many AAA games are coming? I guess no GOTY edition. :(

@RubbishyMe: Yeah, GOTY wouldn't work, but nothing's stopping them from releasing somethings like a "Complete Edition". That's what I'll continue waiting for, to be expected after *all* the DLC's been released for a while.

Fallout series is my favorite series of video games ever. I will be playing it day one regardless of whatever games are coming out.

A: The fact that a game wasn't game of the year has never prevented anyone from releasing a GOTY version. Seriously, look around at some of the "GOTY"s.
B: Well, for one, me. I'll buy it as soon as it's up on steam. Not so much on the "content" packs though (i.e. worthless crap; i.e. horse armor for fallout).

Only a dumb release date unless MS wanted the game to come out when so many AAA are also supposed to come out. Lets face it, any seasoned (and there are many) Fallout player can easily squeeze 200+ hours out of the game, I myself are on about 400+ over 2 characters. Do you think MS market Research want you to spend that much time on one purchase? According to Jason Bergman a senior producer at Bethesda Softworks -
"This isn’t due to any major issue with the code or content"
We all now full well about MS's product placement!

Yeah no kidding. These would have been great this summer so I can lead into playing Skyrim. Too bad because I've just about moved on.

I know there were problems with the game being a tad.... unstable when it was first released. Have those problems been fixed yet? My Collector's Edition is still sitting sealed because I've had other games to play, and I'm wondering whether I should bust it out.

@GordLacey I'm playing through the game now on the 360 and it's relatively stable. So far I've run into one, or possibly two (need to try some things), bugs that have made me unable to complete a very minor quest(s).

In 40+ hours I've had 3 or 4 hard locks, which aren't that big a deal. Unfortunately, one of them was during an autosave which corrupted the file. Luckily I keep many saves and do it often, so I didn't lose much. I highly recommend doing the same.

@GordLacey

I get the occasional lockup, usually having a companion wait somewhere fixes that. Other than that, it's been smooth for me.

You might get a lock up or two and maybe a graphical bug now and then. For the most part everything is fixed. The bugs were way overstated from the beginning anyways.

@thenutman69321 Thanks for the info, everyone. Looks like I should crack that baby open and start playing. In Fallout 3 I would save all the time - did you know you can't have more than 230 saves for a PS3 game? :D

@esbeekay

Dead Money was pretty ridiculous on Hardcore with some Project Nevada stuff. I ended up addicted to Buffout, the Sierra Madre Martini, and Med-X through my attempts to survive in the environment there. I was always worried about health, it was a pretty neat mechanic.

The bunker you get as a base afterwards was worth it, I think; that vending machine makes serious chem addictions totally manageable.

Another month? Argh. I specifically timed my New Vegas playthrough so that all of the DLC packs would be available during it. I hated playing the Fallout 3 DLC after I'd finished the main game. I hit the original level cap early so the last 1/4 of the game was all wasted XP. Then there wasn't enough content in the DLC to hit the new level caps and get all the new perks.

I have a ton of games that I want to get to, so I wasn't keen on starting a new F3 game for the DLC. That's why I timed NV so that it'd be available. So far it's worked out great. Had I not picked up the first 3 DLC I'd have hit the original level cap a couple of weeks ago. I also like using the DLC gear in my new game. Maybe I'll put it on hold for a couple of weeks and go on to something else.

When I played F3 (and before it, Oblivion), I knew there was so much content, ways to play, etc that I couldn't possibly fit it all in one playthrough. So I went in knowing and planning to do the main quest on my first character, then explore the side branches (alternate quest endings, DLC, Big Guns instead of Small, etc) on other characters. It made more sense to me than trying to do it all.

I guess what I'm saying is, would making another character to do some of that stuff help stretch your playtime (without boring you) until the last part is ready?

A bit later than I was hoping, but it'll work. By then I'll be working towards ending 4 of 4 (siding with NCR).

Hey, if Two Worlds II can get a GOTY Edition, what's stoppin' New Vegas? lol But seriously, as another said, they can still do a "complete edition" or something along those lines.

That said, this delay is bull pucky. Especially when Bergman, and the blog, insulted the awaiting fans saying "don't be paranoid, Lonesome Road will still come out in August" and then, less than 2 weeks later, announce the delay.

When it comes to release dates, schedules and the like, Bethesda/Obsidian should only announce them the day beforehand... and even then, you'd have to take it with a grain of salt.

I'm still lookin' forward to this last DLC pack (even though I had hoped there would be a few more due to the title, thanks for that Joystiq), as I've enjoyed New Vegas... just not nearly as much as Fallout 3, however.

Good for the PS3 and XBox 360 folks don't have the option to mod their game, so it's a good thing for them.

I just can't imagine the PC folks buying these with all the mods available on the internet... for free.

I will, of course, reserve judgment based on what they actually release, but I just don't see this going over well. Well, maybe it'll be better if you get some bonus hats for TF2 along with it... (I keed, I keed)
