PSA: Canadian 250GB Xbox 360 bundle with 5 games now available
52
Do you come from the school of thought that equates "free stuff" with "money saved"? Is a $20 gift card as good as $20 off? Did you buy that useless robotic vacuum dog because it was so steeply discounted you'd practically lose money not buying it? We understand your plight, friend. And if you're Canadian, we think we've got a deal for you.
News broke yesterday that our gentle neighbors to the north would be alone in getting the above limited edition Xbox 360 bundle which, while still $300, manages to throw enough free stuff in there that we're actively considering a pricey Canadian road trip –-- we'd practically lose money if we didn't buy it! Your $300 nets you a 250GB Xbox 360 S console, and full game downloads of Halo 3, Gears of War 2, Fable 3, Halo Wars, and the excellent Alan Wake. And, beginning today, it's available at Canadian retailers like Future Shop and Best Buy.
It's not a price cut, but who needs cash off when you could get that much free stuff?
[Thanks, MakoXL.]

I would buy it if it came with Lost Odyssey.

That's pretty much a bundle with all the worthwhile exclusives the 360 has to offer, not including XBLA titles.
Pretty neat for someone who doesn't yet own a 360.

@KenobiEagle would be better if they change the halo games and fable for Dead Rising 1, Mass Effect 1, and I don't know any other good 360 game.

Yeah I wish we had the immense respect that comes with ruining your countries entire economy (and as a result the worlds), having literally hordes of people oversea's willing to kill you, and having a 14 trillion dollar deficit! Oh well can't have it all I suppose....

What sucks being in Canada is the internet bandwidth data cap limit pretty much kills huge downloads. And this bundle only comes with 5 downloadable games.

If Canadians are reluctant to stream a lot of movies because of the bandwidth cap:

how many are willing to download 5 full games?

Yeah it's a bitch for sure, but the lackluster showcase of Netflix in canada is more responsible about their low number than anything else. Even to this day, Canada's netflix doesn't even come close to offer the same level of content the US has.

Yes, both US and Canada consoles are basically the same thing. They both share the same region so games from either country would work on them and they both use the same power outputs.

Alan Wake looks nice, I have seen my brother played it a couple of times but im not really interested enough to play it. The only other good game is Gears 2. Halo and Fable sucks.

Sucks when Canadian ISPs put internet bandwidth data cap limits. You go over, you pay extra.

But then each game has to be installed, which will probably increase total to around 40 GB maybe.

@Patricio87 Because its a newer game. If you like Halo 3 enough then they'll buy Halo Reach. Same for why Gears 2 isn't the Gears collection.

Downloads are all well and good, but couldn't they have at least come preloaded on the harddrive? Make the buyer use an activation code if you must. But given that my ISP caps data at 50 gb per month... these games would take up a good 30-35 gb of that.

Is there a way to find out the total gamerscore of these 5 games for a new customer?
