Castle Crashers' second title update ready for download (grab your free Pink Knight!)

That's right, you can download your free Pink Knight character for Castle Crashers on Xbox Live right now but, perhaps best of all, The Behemoth promises to pledge a dollar for each of the first 50,000 downloads to the Keep A Breast Foundation. You get free game content, a charity gets free money and some women hopefully get to keep their breasts. It's win-win-win!

On top of the free Pink Knight, there's also a downloadable Blacksmith character for 160 MS Points ($2), a new Team vs Team mode for Player Match Arena and two new Avatar awards to unlock: a Cardinal Animal Orb and Knight Helmet. In addition to all of these goodies, there are also several bug fixes employed in this title update, all of which you can read about in the update notes over on The Behemoth's blog.

Ahem... anyway, one of the best downloadable games I've ever played, hands down.

They need to fix the horrible online for the PSN... Most people can't create rooms, so online is usually empty.

I think the idea of "free money" in this case is determined by whether you've worked to earn it or not. Though I would stop short of saying a charity hasn't worked for their cause... blah blah, semantics...

So somebody answer me this ... Yesterday there's a story in which Valve claims they can't put free content on Live because they say Microsoft won't let them. Today, Castle Crashers gets free content in the Marketplace. Is it possible that Microsoft isn't the problem?

Sony plays a part too. Historically, things that have been free on PS3 are also free on 360. The pink knight is included with Castle Crashers on PS3 (I think?), so Microsoft allowing it as free content on the 360 is more plausible.

Pink Knight was $2 on PSN, but it went all went to charity. PSN Castle Crashers got the King and Necro pack for free, though, so it could just be a bit of an attempt at competition on 360's part, I don't know.

But yes, Microsoft does want Valve to charge money for the TF2 updates, that's no fairy tale.

It's a mixed bag of nuts, they dont want maps/levels given out for free but contents like weapons/characters can be okay.
Also throwing the fact that this game is so old they have no reason to charge for this content, this is just a little extar for those that already have it and maybe a little incentive to pick it up for those that dont have it. This ignores they still have the other DLC packs for sale.

For Valve they like adding maps for free because otherwise they believe it creates a segregated community.
It's only a matter of time before we see TF2 head to the PS3 with Steamworks.

I don't think age has anything to do with it, though. I've seen plenty of other games offer free content, some of them the day they come out. I've also seen other game offer free maps, so I don't think the type of content is a factor, either.

I think the Pink Knight isn't considered a DLC pack for the 360 version, but is part of the title update. That's just my guess, though.

No, the pink knight is downloaded through the Marketplace like any other piece of DLC. It just happens to be free.

FYI: Men can get breast cancer too.

Just because our breast are somewhat naturally smaller, doesn't mean we don't have them.

Some Castle Crashers this weekend sounds good.

The knights are of indeterminate gender... so when they kiss the princesses, it's either normal hetero smooching or steamy lesbian liplock.

If they're all male, then the pink knight is secure enough in his masculinity to wear pink (did you miss the part about BREAST CANCER RESEARCH)... or bisexual.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. ;-)

And yet the lvl 256 exploit still hasn't been patched.
