If you've spent a considerable amount of time with Deus Ex: Human Revolution, then you know protagonist Adam Jensen is in need of a new bathroom mirror. His landlord isn't really making much of an effort to replace it, though. This, as you can imagine, upsets Mr. Jensen just a tad.
Adam Jensen really wants his mirror replaced

@Sled I hacked it last night just because nobody was behind the counter. The fact that civilians cower in fear just because you hacked a machine (and don't react until you do) makes me lol.

Hahahah! What a d**k! But really...Adam Jensen is almost completely devoid of a personality. Which is good and bad for the player. But at times he seems like he's a borderline psychopath!

@ToolroomKnight
But was he always a psycho, or is the effect of becoming a super-cyborg? Where does humanity begin or end!?
Really, though, I rather enjoy Elias Toufexis' portrayal of Jensen. It has a pretty even tone, so the dialog meshes well even when you're in control of it. You don't get that crazy happy-furious-detached dichotomy that plagued the dialog in LA Noire.
Plus, just try to stop me from being a total a-hole if I have swords inside my arms.

This was awesome. I still laugh at the cheesy fact they were to lazy to make a reflection so they did that instead.
What is this? A 90s FPS? Haha. Maybe they were going for that.

@PlagueDoctor357 Actually Jensen punched the mirror when he first saw himself after he was augmented. It's part of the story not "Oh no no reflections allowed"

@Hyperion45 Heh...Honestly? I'm sure everyone knows it's not a world where there are no mirrors allowed.
I was laughing that they used a cheesy excuse like him punching it to not bother actually adding reflections to any of the mirrors in the game.
You never see mirrors, but the few you do have no reflections.
They knew you'd see the one in his house and made it broken to add story and not make you think about the reflection.
Like an old old PC game or something.

@PlagueDoctor357 Sorry for the double reply....But I think it's awesome they throw the clockworking stuff in his apartment like he was trying to learn how to do precise movements with his new fingers.

Obviously Mr. Jensen punched the mirror out of frustration and self loathing of seeing his augmented face looking back at him.
That's the story I came up with anyway. MY Jensen is bitter about being augmented against his will. But that's the beauty of Deus Ex - it's your own story.

@iceveiled That is precisely what I thought as well. I am playing as someone who is angry about not giving consent. He reluctantly accepts his augs though and hopes to use them for good.
Or something.
Lol, it's been so long since I played a game with little details like this left for me to fill in the backstory.
Good stuff.

@iceveiled If you confront Taggart in front of the audience (instead of sneaking backstage to get the info you need) and pick the right dialogue option, Jensen states that he punched the mirror when he first saw himself. That is THE reason it's broken.

Thank you for posting this! God that is hilarious! Yeah I hacked the terminal as well when she said that. I was like, wait a minute! Lets see about that. Never occurred to me to stuff her in there, whew that's hard core lol.
Absolutely loving Deus Ex: Human Revolution right now. It has restored my faith in game developers. : ) Great art, fantastic music, feels modern Vangelis bladerunner style, there are a few sound loops in some areas that repeat a bit too much but otherwise you can mostly overlook it.
Story is solid as well, just enough to keep you interested but loose enough so you can enjoy the little sandbox whether its a small city zone or working a building from top to bottom clean.
If feels more like a simulator than a game with all the environment things you can do. There were so far only a few times I had augmentation envy, so you double back and look for another "solution".
Normally I stealth ghost in the shell style work a room entirely til there is nothing left. Total sponging. That's fun but it can get annoying with npc detection bleed through objects - its rare but it does happen. Also you can never have enough inventory space! Bleh, even at max I am still pack ratting lol.
Alternate fun example. Get hacking so you can convert turrets to safe for you but depleted uranium poisoning for them.
NEXT get heavy lifting and _carry_ said turret from room to room. Enter room say hi, drop turret step away from entrance and wait for the screams and bullet fire to stop. Can even take it on elevator rides, whole other floors - double barrels of fun!
Remember a green beeping turret is a happy turret!
Total fun, save health, ammo, time etc. Mr turret has a huge health pool and unlimited bullets. Emp threats are its only enemy : )

I feel the same. I also greatly appreciate seeing the "save anywhere" option is finally back again! I am playing it on the PS3 as well and it feels really PC gaming like. I think I am only missing the quick save so far.
I kinda wished it would be released later this year for better footing for the GOTY competition but better now than that massively overcrowded mess that is later this year : )
