It's about damn time! I've been waiting for this ever since it was announced, now back to playing 3rd strike online.

Joystiq, it's still a great time to own a Saturn.

Amen. And don't forget to pick up an Action Replay Plus. It won't be a cheap system to own, as many of the games are quite costly, but it'll be worthwhile. The import shooters can run you anywhere from $40-$250. Something like Panzer Dragoon Saga will run you $250+. Panzer Dragoon will run you $20-$30. Panzer Dragoon Zwei will run you $30-$40. Astal will run you $25-$30. NiGHTS will run you $20-$25. And on and on. I'm sure I'm missing a lot. Two shooters released here, both Galactic Attack and Darius Gaiden will run you about $20 each. Then there are some gems like D. Yeah, the Saturn is pretty amazing, though not cheap to game on and collect for.

@NukaCola For years, shmup fans (long before the rise of this bullet hell genre) have had to pay 200$ for this game on Saturn. 15$ is a bargain beyond belief! Plus its in English too with online co-op! This is amazing.

Jeeeze I'm more than willing to pay the 15 dollar price tag than have my wallet raped by the ebay price of 200 dollars for the Saturn version.

Some collectors want the original version, that's fine and dandy I'm just a guy who wants to experience the game and have fun playing it without wondering how I'm going to fill this hole burnt in my wallet getting the Saturn version.

I can't get excited for Gears of War 3; over-the-shoulder games have been around since the 90s.
I can't get excited for Forza 4; driving games have been around since the 70s.
I can't get excited for Uncharted 3; exploration games have been around since the 80s.

I think I've made my point.

I'm excited hearing this news. I was wondering when the release date for Radiant Silvergun and Guardian Heroes would happen. The Saturn had a rocky life span but those two gems got a chance to shine brightly on the system.

For me this year XBLA will truly rock.

HELLZ YEAH.

I never played it due to not having the capabilities but this is awesome. $15 for a legendary shooter that goes for ridiculous amounts on eBay is a steal.

Man, lots of games that were formerly big collector's items are now becoming worthless by proxy! Parasite Eve 2, Rondo of Blood, et al. It's kind of funny in a way.

It'll be interesting to finally get to play this again. Never got around to buying the Saturn version, but a (now long departed) local arcade around here had the PCB version for quite a while, so I got to play it a fair bit. The problem was that being a "US" version of the game, it was gimped a fair bit, removing half the weapons (only two fire buttons) and all the Engrishy "Be attitude for gains" text at the bosses.

I wish they could remake Baku Baku for the Saturn. It was like Tetris but it was more fun. They used animals and food. It was very addicting. I should have never sold my original Saturn for $100. I had Guardian Heroes, Virtua Fighter Kids, Powerslave (had BattleTanks hidden), Baku Baku, Astal, Nights, Christmas Nights, Magic Night Rayearth, Panzer Dragoon, Panzer Dragoon Zwei, and a few others. ALL FOR $100. : (

@This Little Man Says His Name Is So..... what's your point? Treasure is not owned by Microsoft. Microsoft is just publishing it. What I mean by that is like 'Ghostbusters: The Video Game." Sony purchased EXCLUSIVE publishing rights for Europe from Atari making Ghostbusters a PS3 exclusive in European territories. You think that meant anything to Microsoft? Heck no! Never in Microsoft's history has Microsoft ever done what they did. Integrity didn't matter and Microsoft was willing to stoop that low. Microsoft wanted in Europe with an Xbox 360 version of Ghostbusters and looked for a loop hole. Microsoft stooped low enough to for the first time EVER in their history, unlike Sony which it had always been there was they went to Atari and said, "We want a region free disc made for the Xbox 360 version." So, even publishers don't mean jack and apparently according to Microsoft and how they see contracts, it doesn't mean anything either. Treasure can find a loop hole and bring the game to PSN and make more money with the game. Its not like its any harder to port a 32-Bit to the PS3 than to the 360.

I wouldn't count on it. I mean Ikaruga still isn't on the PSN. I'd say if you want this game, get an Xbox, or a Saturn. Besides, the Xbox needs some more good exclusives.

You do realize this game is prohibitively expensive as far as the console version goes, right? This is KIND OF A BIG DEAL as is Guardian Heroes.

@nw968 Yes, a game that came out in 1998.
On the Saturn.
In Japan.
With not many copies circulated.

So yeah, a game that came out in 1998 and got played by not very many people but wanted by so very many more. It's either this, or a copy and a Japanese or chipped Saturn off eBay.

Go on, have another go.

@Exu

Maybe I'm being a bit defensive on this issue as I completely despise xbox and revered the Saturn as one of my most loved consoles. I do have a copy of Radiant Silvergun as well as 2 copies of Guardian Heroes (shall I post them on youtube for you?) and it pisses me off that people get so worked up over these old games. Why were you not going crazy over them when they were available when the Saturn was out? Yes I know Silvergun never made it U.S. shores but true fans of these titles would have had them long ago. It's just another way that companies like Xbox and Sony put little to no effort to make money on a game that been out for years. It's nostalgia trafficking as I like to call it. Get older gamers that remember how great it was to play these games back in the day and try to resell them their childhood.
