Looks good... but I'm going to be far to busy with Guild Wars 2 to play any other mmo I think.

@CleanUndies I'm certainly more interested in GW2... but this does look cool. So long as this doesn't release within a month or two of GW2, it might just get some of my time (and money)!

Arrgg, the colors blind me!

I'm going back to my games that are 95% brown.

Hey, everquest wasn't brown!

*Looks at 90% of everquest zones*

Damnit.

Seems to be Carbine Studios rather than Turbine, as stated early in the article. Tho the rest of the article mentions Carbine.

wow, that's some excellent art direction, I don't even play MMOs but I'm interested.

While it sounds extremely interesting, the active dodge thing is a turn off. I do not have any desire to play a fighting game or anything that vaguely resembles one, esp. on my stupidly lagged connection.

That chica's fingers in the header image are almost as bad as the zumbahand ones.

The settler, from what I remember hearing of in other previews, will have the ability to build and re-establish things. If they come across a ruined wall, they can use their path-specific ability to repair it, among other things.

They're also planning on having inter-connectivity between paths as well. You come to a well-defended area for instance, the social path can sure up your defenses by building walls (and turrets if I remember right), the explorer can find an alternate route in, while the soldier and their beacon can draw out the forces inside, weakening the resistance you'll find when you enter, while the scientist might be able to hack their technology and possibly turn it against them.

All that's from memory, so I'll have to glance around a little and re-find those articles.

The game was definitely a surprise for me. The trailer really hit it home, it's cartoonish, but in a Pixar way so the style and presentation doesn't rub an older person the wrong way. And the spell slinger? Yeah... its like they took Fillion and Outlaw Star's Gene and mixed and mashed em together, I'll easily roll one!

With this being sandwiched betwixt SWTOR and GW2, two excellent AAA, I don't know how this game is going to be competitive. I think most of MMO community will find what it wants between those two and the ever present WoW. I don't know what their expected release is but I think the next year won't be too fruitful from emergent MMO's.

@Donau

You would think that but then you look at all the Korean MMOs and how Turbine converted their subscriptions model into Free2Play and had more success than when they launch.. I believe those Turbine MMOs are still around too despite the WOWs and Guild Wars of the World.

Point is MMOs can find their own community and be profitable without garnering WOW type subscription levels. Honestly, most of the sub based MMOs coming out will probably convert to F2P and be profitable with just a few hundred thousand players.
