*something about mobile phone games not being real games before all the morons chime in*

This looks well worth a download, thanks for the heads up, B-Rock.

BTW, for a gaming site there sure are some broken facts. Canabalt didn't define the autorun subgenre. You'd have to research earlier ones but that takes effort.

@Rain Indian and Islamic mathematicians had made discoveries in what would-be Calculus centuries before Leibniz and Newton, but they are mere footnotes in the history of mathematics.

Sometimes, being first at something doesn't really matter in the long run.

Is this on iPad only? Or is it iPhone and iPad?

I remember the Autorun genre of touchscreen games being defined by Yoshi Touch N Go... at the launch of the Nintendo DS!

@Kamalot This one's not really a touchscreen game, it's basically a one-button game that uses the touchscreen as its button.

@mguniverse

Not in mine. The Mrs. and I still play it.

Can't say much about the longevity of iOS games though. Most of them get launched once... and people forget about them forever.

@Vexorg

Sorry Vexorg.

Yoshi's Touch and Go requires more precision that most iOS games. Not only are you flinging things in precise angles, Angry-Birds style, you are also drawing offensive and defensive lines of clouds, creating bubbles, tapping on things, and flicking them across the both screens.

It is HARDLY a one-button game. Yes, you use the touch-screen... but a button can only have an on and an off state. The touch screen has an on state, off state, x and y coordinates.

There is much more precision and strategy necessary to complete levels of Yoshi Touch & Go than there are in ANY version of Angry Birds. The Nintendo DS's resistive touch screen and stylus are actually MORE PRECISE than playing games with your finger on iOS.

Finding the right games can be a challenge for some people, TouchArcade and Portabliss help a lot. My top games right now are ASYNC Corp, Cado, Battleheart and Radiant. You can pick up all four of these for about $6. Worth every penny. :)

I like how they took a stab at angry birds with the "profbird" vehicle that shits money when you go up in it.

This game is truly awesome. And App Store reviews tells the same. It proves that one finger is all you need to get so much action on your screen. Being universal for $0.99 it's a must-have game.
