@lockwoodisbored

The most avid of readers/commenters should send in their silhouettes for a design.

I think someone just needs to plaster DSG on the front of a T-shirt.
Instant win.

Still contemplating an idea. I feel that winning, however, woild be selfish on my part considering I own all consoles and perhaps someone less fortunate than I deserve it more...

@Shadowbender Tell you what, you design it. If you win, get a PS3 and send it to me. In return I'll keep fighting the terrorists.

Would it be possible to for a non-US resident to participate if they had a family member in the US receive the price?

@Pure Black World Tendency

for the 3rd time, I won't marry you just so you can win a console!

@eat it Awwww you know I really wanted that console. I'd let you use it too. On sundays, after you finish washing the appartment.

But seriously, my sis lives in Phoenix. I will visit her this Xmas to pick up the console and I've got the idea and skills to make the one t-shirt to rule them all. :D

I'm pretty sure the official answer is "no"... but the real answer is "have her enter with your idea".

Already submitted mine. I felt it wouldn't be complete without the logo.

Should just have a white tee with a Atari joystick with the Joystiq logo on it.

I think Atari joystick is much too obvious. ;) But I honestly admit - I thought about it. xD

No, Joystiq. That was not the last winning T-shirt. I should know.

So you guys are either
A: too lazy to design a t-shirt
B: don't have enough in-house talent do come up with a good design or
C: know how to get work done for pennies on the dollar by having a contest of some sort instead of paying a design firm

Or
D: Want to have a fun contest that includes Joystiq's awesome community to create designs and have a good time with a nice prize.

Just common intuition. I know that I and other recognizable folk lurk around the comments often. But I'm sure a lot of readers still don't comment, so you're right, it would be difficult to determine readers and listeners alike.

Very important question, are highly pixelated abstract representations of actual game controllers, drawn by yours truly, and with complete palette swaps, considered copyrighted material and/or likeness I can't use in my submission? I only get one submission so I'd really like to know.

@The Nasty Nick Technically if you can tell what it is, no matter how artistic, your infringing on copyrights. But the last shirt that won, had a bunch of trademarked controllers and no one seemed to care. So copyrights are a bit of a slippery slope I guess. For example, I'm doing drawings of existing characters and I'm almost certain that will disqualify me, but consoles might have a better chance of sneaking through.

Okay. On that note, I think I should be safe. Considering they're all hand drawn, are highly modified, I think the guys at Joystiq shouldn't have an issue with it. Unfortunately, my internet was down and my submission is an hour or so late...? I emailed them, and was waiting on a response when my internet went down, so I kept trying to get it back up, and when it did, I sent it right away. I hope I'm not DQ'd :/
