Still waiting on more XBLA support for MNC. Unfortunately they won't be getting any more money from me without the two additional promised DLC packs. I like Uber, but I'm a bit jaded from the lack of XBLA love.

@Teancum same here, I got it when it first came out but now it's like they only care about the PC.

I'm hoping that with MS considering FTP games they might port over this. Loved the original.

@Teancum - In my case, they probably won't be getting money from me simply because I don't play PC games much (the number of things that can run on my three year old Macbook Pro is pretty limited).

If they do work with Microsoft to bring this to XBLA, I'll be happy to support them though.

@Teancum You could blame Uber, or you could blame microsoft. Either way, I'm jumping to PC.

"Working on the Steam version of Monday Night Combat Classic, we really like the opportunity to update it frequently. That's how we like to work internally – it was good that we could put it out there, and if we wanted to try something new, we could put it out there and see how the fans would react, tweak it and tweak it, and we liked working that way."

With this being said, the chances of it getting more support on Xbox 360 is slim. The Xbox 360 updating system is pretty "ancient" and the certification system Microsoft inplaces, is also another hassle.

The developers would have to release an update and. wait 3 weeks for Microsoft to grant the update to be release. Players will then complain about things, maybe there are small bugs, etc. etc. The developer would then need to release another patch, wait 3 weeks for Microsoft's okay.

Repeat the process.

It doesn't allow the developer to fix small bugs instantly. Instead they have bunch up everything and then ask Microsoft's permission.

Dude, do you have any idea how much rigmarole they'd have to go through in order to get those updates put on Xbox Live? It'd be about a month of waiting for it to go through Microsoft, and a ridiculous amount of money that they'd have no chance of getting a return on.

Don't blame Uber Entertainment for not wanting to waste their time and money just to make a few people happy.

I talked to the developers at PAX: They tried for two months to get an update through before they gave up. There will be no more updates for the XBLA.

Take the "tried for two months" thing with as much salt as you want, but they were pretty clear in saying that the XBLA is going to stay how it is.

They have no ruled out making SMNC for XBLA either, but there is no way to support a FTP model currently on the 360.

Anyone who's even tried to get a game out the door with XBLA at it's forefront interests is pretty screwed in the pooch. Take for instance Red Dead Redemption. They wanted a bunch of their DLC to be free. Well Microsoft and Sony wouldn't stand for it. They really hate free stuff apparently, as they get no money for it. So they forced them to charge for things.

Dungeon Defenders is also another title that got goofed because of Microsoft. We've had to wait a year just because Microsoft kept changing crap on them, refusing them, and making them wait while they "reviewed" it. In other words, "Oh, you're not exclusive to us or giving our customers exclusives, screw you, we'll wait you out till your studio closes, ho hum".

Personally, I think the X-Box and it's pay to play online features can just goddamn die. Thanks to them my PS3 no longer gets half the demos it used to because Sony wants everyone to go "Plus", so they can rake in the cashola that X-Box has hand-over-fist from everyone. It did more harm than good to the industry, and the only thing it's good for is for playing the plethora of terrible shooters that they make sure to make "exclusive". Halo is the only saving grace I've seen for the console, and even that game's welcome is dying out.

They should be careful... when you lessen the lethality, it could turn into MAG or Brink, where numerical superiority is everything, and flanking and such don't matter anymore because they have enough health to turn around and fight back.

They're also nulling Assassins into death by removing their one hit kill abilities. They're pretty much turning the game into a 3rd person DOTA. It's not a bad thing, but I'd rather it be a mode or a special ruleset than the preset of the game. I actually ENJOYED assassin, even though I mostly ran around the middle slicing robots in the back.

After the great job they did with MNC, you can bet they'll have my money for SMNC. Even if the cash shop is just full of hats, it's still worth it, at least for me, to support such a wonderful team.

Talked to one of the devs at PAX, and I'm liking everything I heard (we did move past the "spiel" after about a couple minutes and talked about some details.)

With the whole XBLA red tape stuff, I knew I had to move to the PC for the next version. Which is what I'll be doing for SMNC.

AWESOME.

Loved MNC, and will love this too. I always felt like it was sort of a Free2Play game waiting to happen, and was sort of sad it didn't offer me more ways to "increase my engagement" (or whatever else you want to call it where I give them money and they give me more stuff in the game). 25 endorsements and the addition of "Products" sounds like a great time, and more variety to keep me coming back.

Honestly though, the lessened lethality sounds sucky, but Uber has shown nothing but utter competence in every way so I trust them not to let it suck.

OK, I don't play MNC that often, but Combat girl sounds an awful lot like a better version of the existing Support class:
1. Support's firebases are thrown, then automatically deploy to a turret whose combat ability is based on your Firebase level. Combat Girl's kitty guns are thrown against walls then automatically deploy to a turret whose combat ability is based on your Kitty Gun skill level.
2. Support's Heal/Hurt beam heals or huts one player. Combat Girl's gun heals multiple people (however, all MNC guns have two firing modes...)

Not only that, but AGAIN, MNC had two F2P models they could have chosen: The LoL model or the TF2 model, and Uber chose the wrong one.

Which one should they have chosen? I think Valve did a decent job on TF2. Not trying to be sarcastic.

I think Uber would make a ton more money if they switched their talents over to a generic military shooter DOTA game, instead of this. This is way more imaginative and interesting though

@GuardianLegend The thing is, what would the bots/creeps be in a military shooter? Robots?
