Even if most of the locations sound like RPG standards, the trailer is worth watching. It's our best look at the game since it was announced, and the Ghibli-ized takes on those common locales are predictably lovely. Ni no Kuni comes out November 17 in Japan, and still hasn't been announced for release elsewhere.

Level 5 need to get onto a Dark Cloud 3, or even a Rogue Galaxy 2.
This one, like White Knight Chronicles, doesnt interest me

A good game is a good game. This looks like an amazing game. It'd be different if they were putting out crap (like Kingdom Hearts 3 on hold for 358/2 days or Re:Coded, or Dream Drop Distance probably will suck) - But this looks great.
Plus, wasn't Rogue Galaxy kind of complete with the end of it? Do you really need a sequel?

@Faenix STFU the game looks astounding and Sony should do everything in its hands to localize the game for everyone else in the freakin world.
Animation looks amazing, combat looks fun, everything else looks very creative and well done and I'd wish we could have the game by christmas but Im sure the localization will take some time and our best bet is fall 2012.

Now that is a good looking game! I'm bummed that we won't be getting it for a while, if at all. :(

please please please NA release! cmon, SCEA, or ATLUS!
i miss the whimsy and fantasy in my RPGs; final fantasy was where it was at before being saturated in convoluted storylines and fancy schmancy hairstyles.

@Howard Roark Can't agree more. Now FF is just a bunch of people dressed up like they're going to the beach.

This looks like a fun adventure. I'd akin it more to a Zelda title than Final Fantasy by the looks of it. High fantasy and adventure, but with turn-based combat. Should be a hoot.

@Howard Roark I hope Atlus publishes it, they have great preorder bonuses and their game manuals are always full color, I might be in the minority that actually appreciates that though.

There's no way they would make a game with such high production values and not maximize their profit by not releasing outside of Japan.

I wasn't aware this was ever coming to Wii. But if it did I don't think it would be as appealing. The main appeal is that the graphic style almost looks identical to a Studio Ghibli film. I don't think that would be possible with the Wii's hardware.

@TraceurRyuk Part III I could have sworn a Wii version was announced and canceled. I remember being disappointed.
Maybe it couldn't have been quite as beautiful as a PS3 version, but the Wii isn't exactly a slouch. We're all just too used to shovelware on it.

The Wii is kindof a slouch. All of Nintendo's platforms this generation, and the next are all underpowered as shit. The Wii just got a crippled version of Dragon Quest announced for it, be satisfied with that.

Probably because outside of like big named JRPGs (Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Tales of...), most are Japan exclusive due to poor sales outside the market of Nippon.

That's just simply not true. Cross Edge, Last Rebellion, Trinity Universe, Atelier Rorona, Nier, Hyperdimension Neptunia, Ar Tonelico, Eternal Sonata, Resonance of Fate etc

This game looks simply beautiful. This collaboration between Studio Gibili and Level-5 with a touching story and epic adventure is day one buy for me if it is localized which I believe will considering that Miyazaki movies are popular here.

I bought a DSI XL for the DS version. I'll probably end up buying a PS3 for it too (more of a "last straw" concept there).
And I have little-to-no interest in JRPGs.

Wow, looks...beautiful.
even if it is not localized we can still import right? I felt like watching one of those old Final Fantasy trailers...before X, then they went downhill.

Well then again right now it has no mention of coming stateside, and considering the Xbox360 is a dead system in Japan... There's really no reason to dedicate a budget to porting or multi-platforming the game for the domestic market.
Then again, the reason why people buy new systems are for games. Instead of crying for it to come out for your system, just buy a PS3 or get it for Xmas or whatever. Then you can pick up Uncharted series, Heavenly Sword, Disgaea, Infamous, LittleBigPlanet, 3D Dot Game Heroes, and a bunch of other awesome exclusives.

For the love of everything sacred and holy, release this in the US! There is an audience here who loves this stuff, and I don't know why publishers have such a hard time believing that! Screw Call of Duty, give us art!

Fortunately, since this isn't on the Wii I'd bet much money that it will end up being localized for the PS3. Atlus, Xseed, or NIS. C'mon no whammy!
