10 dollars for minor updates? That's pretty asinine.

Hint: If you release a full game for free, you can't tack on a 10 dollar fee for minor upgrades and call it reasonable.

@FuzzyPierce
I agree, however I wanna support indie development... even if I've already beat their game. The extra levels are just icing on the cake.

You know, I made this exact statement like an hour ago when discussing Desktop Dungeons. :p

I'm all for going multiplatform and earning money from your work, but this is starting to smell like exploitation/milking to me.

That's quite steep to say you don't get much, the improved graphics and music are bad and the original game is free and mod-able.

No thanks.

@thesignpainter If the full game costs X, additions not equal to the development cost of the full game shouldn't cost that much more than X.

10 bucks for graphical upgrades and some new modes to a free game is like charging 100 bucks for the same thing for Street Fighter 4. You can't update a free game and expect your price to be reasonable unless it's only a buck or two.

Well actually it's more like charging "more than infinity dollars" for the same thing for street fighter 4, since 10 dollars is "more than infinity" percent of 0 dollars.

This is a "more than infinity" price hike for minor features. That is the core of the issue.

I love that this game is getting the recognition it deserves, but I can't help but feel that it's getting the Final Fantasy, Call of Duty, etc. treatment. It just doesn't need to be milked for everything it's worth unfortunately capitalism says otherwise though.

All that aside, I will probably pick up some version, most likely the 3DS one since it will be the only one that is really different.

Yes, yes!

I wonder why it never came to PSN or XBLA. Or even iOS.

@HaVoK308 I'd like to play this on my iPad, as long as they get the controls right.

Because touch screen controls for this would be terrible. Unless, of course, you can use a Bluetooth- or dock-connected controller.

I highly recommend the Pixel authorized PSP homebrew version. I just beat it a few days ago (got the semi bad ending). It looked/sounded great and ran very smoothly.

Unless the Steam version lacks "Steam Play," there's probably no real reason to buy this from the Mac App Store.

I've bought it on WiiWare.
I've bought it on DSiWare.
I'll buy it on 3DS and Steam.

I love this game. Hell, if they made an Android port, I'd probably buy that, too (if I can use physical keys, that is).

I bought the DS version for my 3DS two or three weeks ago, and I completely understood the praise within the first hour. It's just a really beautiful game, with an uncommon amount of soul. I'll probably grab this, too, since I wanted to play the upgraded Wii version, but the Wii Shop is such a hassle. Couldn't be happier about supporting Nicalis, either.
