For a second I thought that said "Infinity Raceway".
Don't know how that would end...

Forza picking up the scraps that GT5 stupidly left behind. Sonoma should not have been cut from GT5, I'm glad it's being included in FM4.

@LarqueFausse You win some, you lose some. I agree the track list is poor in GT5. But at least it has varying time of day (i.e. day night cycles) and weather. Forza lacks these, and I really wish they would add them.

It's not so much the tracks that made into GT5, it's the ones that didn't that really piss me off. Some of them fan favorites. Along with Sonoma, Seattle, Midfield, El Capitan, the Vegas drag strip, and even the huge Test Course oval. Then there's the other Driving Park courses as well as the numerous Rally courses to include Citta di Aria and Costa Di Almafi.

I'd gladly trade away the 3 new city courses for one of the cut courses from GT4.

@spin cycle I forgot who said this on the fm4 forums but there philosophy when going in to make fm4 was they would rather perfect everything they have then to half ass everything the don't.

@LarqueFausse geesh you havent even tried it yet, calm down .. and Gt5 is great imho.I like forza, and i find the online a little more entertaining than gt5s but being the gear head that i am, Gt5 takes the win for me.. besides the GT series is like 45M+ vs 15M+ for Forza in sells, they gotta be doing something right :P

@bxgt Exactly. I am a fan of both games, but GT5 is just such a lacking game. Their constant strive to be "perfect" ultimately did them in, in my opinion. So I am fine with 60 FPS & Varying Time Cycles, along with Uniquely generated surface temps, 100% accurate tire data from Pirelli, etc etc. If people were to actually read updates from Turn 10 on most of this stuff they do a great job of answering technical questions and are honest even if they don't like to hurt some fans.

You win some, you lose some. Considering when I had GT5 even Forza 3 felt better and looked better 75% of the time (MY OPINION) I can't wait for Forza 4.

@(Unverified) You sir win some internets on my behalf sir. What scares me tho is considering how crappy system specs are compared to high end pc's. I look at games like forza 4 and think to myself its amazing what they can do with such limited hardware.

Grand Turismo also has 12 primary and secondary releases vs Forza's 3, soon to be 4 and 14 years on the market vs Forza's 6.

@LarqueFausse I'm probably one of the few people who would get a kick out of Complex String making a reappearance, but I would. I'd also love for Special Stage Route 11 (and R11 Wet) to come from nowhere- GT3 is still my favorite Gran Turismo, and I imagine those tracks are part of the reason why.

They also played a lot of Infineon Raceway (argh, it's Sears Point FOREVER) in Forza 4 on Top Gear USA this last Sunday.

@spin cycle Still haven't finished watching that episode, but to my mind, it has cemented TGUSA's place as a proper Top Gear show.

great track but what i really want to see is how they fixed nordschleife. after hours and hours of GT5 nordschleife with all elevations bang on right and bumps, forza 3 one just don't cut it.

Spin cycle, I would rather have more tracks than a day and night cycle. I don't watch many races at night. I agree it would be nice, but surely a racing game is better having more tracks than a day and night cycle?

@JSIMPLE There are enough tracks in Forza 3. Now I want day and night, and weather.

How about some off-road parts like in TOCA Race Driver 2?

Mix it up a bit.

Didn't you play Forza 3? With that Desert track (Sedona)? With the beautiful long shadows across the track? Doesn't it bother you after a dozen laps that the shadows haven't moved an inch? That one turn in reverse is always right into the sun, not just for a few laps, but forever?

How would it be if different corners were the tough one due to sun at different times? Or if there might be a light rainfall?

GT5 has a 24 hours of Le Mans race in it. And 12 hours of Sebring (IIRC). Driving 24 hours with the sun not moving just isn't right.

@spin cycle Read T10 Updates on ForzaMotorsport.net you seem to think they can just add something and it works perfectly. T10 does its best to make a new great game in its work cycle.

Rain & Night? Those would be great, but not if they have to cut visuals like other games do because it's straining on the engine. Thats why Forza 4 won't have them, because to make them look amazing and get them to T10's standards they would have to drop it to 30FPS which is below T10's standards.

Why would I want Off-Road in a Simulator like Forza? They are perfect at what they do, and when I want to race Off-Road, I will go play DiRT 3 (Which I own) or Baja: Edge of Control (Which I also own) they do it great, and it gives me 3 games that all are dedicated to what they wanted to do. Not "Throw it all in and get it the best we can".

There are varying cycles of time in Forza 4, I don't know if you haven't read anything about it. But with longer races the Time of Day, Track Temp & Look of the track will change. They have said that you will have to react differently to the sun possibly blinding you, etc etc.

Besides that. T10 does excellent work and a lot of people don't read what they have to say technology based for the game but what news sites say. Turn 10 is very VERY open about its game and you can see tons of articles on the website for Forza 4 already. My favorite is last weeks which details the physics and system revamp from 3. Which was already amazing.

@(Unverified) On top of that, leaving out off-road racing ensures we don't have to wait five years for every sequel like the Gran Turismo games. That's not a dig at Gran Turismo, I'm just sayin'.

@JSIMPLE - I agree 100%. I will always take more tracks over pretty much anything else in a racing game, even more cars.

The tracks are what keep the variety for me.

@(Unverified) I await seeing what the time of day cycles in Forza 4 are.

As to the rest, you're really wrapping yourself up in this. Get off the hypewagon. When you read without skepticism the tweets of Turn 10 and then repeat them verbatim, you really are in thrall.

I would gladly give up visuals for rain and night. I played Forza 1 and 2 and they looked like crap.

I don't get how you can get all high and mighty about not wanting extraneous stuff in Forza when Turn 10 has spent most of their time since Forza 2 on stuff that is nothing to do with the racing, like the online trading, painting and now hearing Clarkson mini reviews and the ridiculous Kinect "pet the car" mode.

I would love to see Turn 10 spend more time on the actual driving. And that includes mixing it up, like night cycles, weather, etc. These are a part of racing, while Clarkson, making decals and standing around static cars isn't.

That tire data is only as good as the physics model it's used on, judging by their past games, it won't be very good. Gt5 looks better than froze 3 all the time, the lighting is just worlds better, theres a hand full of cars that Trully look bad in gt5. The rest all
Compare or surpass what forza 3 did. Auto vista mode is the only thing that looks as good as gt5 permium models, guess what in 25 cars are viewable in the mode, what does that tell ya? Colors and lighting are still off in forza 4.

@mmmfishtacos That is your opinion on the physics, while I may not agree with what you think. I can't tell you whats right and wrong with that, the Lighting is NOT worlds better though, GT5 has some very VERY bad Track Textures, and car graphics. Why is this? Oh thats right because they couldn't make them all tope of the line. Yet in Forza 4 every single car is a "Premium Car" are you seriously trying to Compare Auto Vista to racing? HAH. All the cars in Forza 4 look miles better than GT5's, the Auto Vista ones which are chosen for HISTORY, and having meaning within the car industry, its not to show off lighting, its to go in depth and learn about the car, it is a factual learning experience about the history of cars.

Here this is an actual photo from Forza 4, players of Forza 4 actually can take photo's this size all the time, and EVERY CAR looks this good.

Yes, that's 3,840 x 2,160.

Read more about Forza 4 and stop lying to yourself.
