You must have been in a cave in July. Or at least not on the internet.

Shame they haven't fixed the crappy controls, stupid frame rate cap, or the severe lack of graphics options. What are you doing, Ubisoft? Every other publisher seems to have at least partially grasped the basics of what a PC game needs to have but you consistently display a level of ignorance that is beyond forgiveable.

My thoughts exactly, to me the fact that the game was broken by PC standards was a bigger issue than the fact that I needed to be online when I started playing, and it's what is keeping me from buying this game. I really want to buy it, I really do, but not in this broken state.

Unfortunately this isn't entirely true. Most developers don't seem to get that PC is an entirely different beast and shouldn't have console games ported directly too it. All too often a game comes out that suffers from acute console-itus due to developer neglect. Symptoms include crappy controls when using a mouse and keyboard set up, a narrow 60 degree field of view, un-accessable video settings, and a lack of customization.

Yeah, if they'd fix the problems that an indie studio would fix within the first month (They'd also let you know ahead of time it was being released in such a state and were only releasing it in Beta for to shore up funding/etc.) I would have bought it now.

But no, they just remove the DRM that shouldn't have been there in the first place and want me to suckle their balls? No thanks.

I sincerely doubt that they will release a patch to fix any issues. If they release a full patch addressing the most glaring issues I will go into the bricking business because I shall be shitting them all over the place then.

Sorry but people having to create and apply mods to a game to make it acceptable is well how should I put this, unacceptable....

All the mods that the PC community could tack on to this to attempt to make it palatable doesn't change the fact that Ubisoft served up a steaming pile.

Funny thing about the framerate - it needs to be fixed, because the physics system uses frames as a time reference.

a patch to remove the DRM and from UBI???? wow they should´ve seen how much that sucked just to release a patch to remove it, too bad they didn´t fix all the other bugs, but at least the fixed the biggest one, let´s check if this patch doesn´t have the words SKIDROW on it.

Maybe just save us the headache Ubi and don't include it in the first place. How many times have you done this now? I don't think popular opinion is going to change on this issue, and it's got to hurt your sales from valid consumers.

Uhh I care....If they had fixed the whole game and the DRM remained .... it would still have an exact 0% chance of me ever bothering with it.

I do wholly agree that they do need to fix the game because from what I have been able to gather it sounds of a rather abysmal port to the PC.

I really want the game, but I am not going to support it. I am also really looking forward to the new Ass.Creed, but I fully expect it to be DRM-borked on release as well. I will wait until the inevitable DRM is removed and the price drops to $20.

@ryamkajr

pretty much what you said. I'm never buying a ubisoft released title again on release date. I'll get their games when 1.DRM has been removed 2.their lack of PC features have been added, and 3. It goes on sale on steam for 5-10 dollars. Ubisoft isnt worth more than that.

Good to know that that crap DRM got the axe ...... Now they just need to fix .... well almost everything else from the sound of it.

I know at this point I must sound like a broken record but if it hadn't been for the DRM this would have been a pre-order. Now after the whole DRM fiasco .... they will be lucky if its a Steam-Sale purchase.

This just made me far more likely to buy this game...especially after also learning it was developed by the guy who made Out Of This World (a classic). However, I continue to read troubling reports of bug and control issues, so I may wait a bit.

If their going to remove the DRM then they should have removed the requirement for steam as well.

Congrats Ubi you have finally given your paying customers the same quality product that every pirate has had since launch. If only you would do that from day one maybe I would actually start buying your games again.
