Final Fantasy Type-0's Japanese collector's edition is lovely

Final Fantasy Type-0 is finally coming out in Japan on October 27, and Square Enix is observing the long-awaited occasion with an absolutely gorgeous collector's edition. This limited release of the PSP game packs a book of postcards and a three-disc soundtrack set, and looks damn good doing it.

Here's a bummer: this super pretty set is only going to be available on the Japanese Square Enix e-Store, for ¥12,760. So, there's very little chance of actually encountering one of these in real life. We're addressing this situation by just gazing languidly at this picture, and the others on Andriasang. It'll also be possible to buy the soundtrack and postcards later, if you're the proactive type.

Yeah...Based on my extensive experience with the demo, Type-0 may be the best FF game in the past 5 years.

This game is ...hard. Personally. Reminds me of how I underestimated Kingdom Hearts and got my butt kicked in the game. (on normal mode, no less!) Turns out actual strategy and hand-eye coordination is needed.

That aside, the demo proved the game to be pretty neat. The graphics are pleasing, (they gave me the fan giggles how good it looked!) the gameplay is pretty solid, and I've gotta say... it's kinda weird playing a non-turnbased Final Fantasy. (that isn't Crystal Chronicles)

@pluupy My point is, as a Final Fantasy title, this game has everything to prove after the pieces of crap that FF XII and XIII were, and the catastrophe that FF XIV was.

It could be great, I certainly hope so. I've just lost all hope in Square-Enix as far as this particular franchise goes. And quite frankly, who could blame me ?

I'm a HUGE fan of Crisis Core and I was really pleasantly surprised by the demo. It plays even better than CC, although I only played a few missions and were great. As for the story, it seems quite good and massive (2 UMDs no less) but was just starting to get interesting when the demo finished. can't wait for this one.

@pluupy I remember being nearly done with the Sephiroth battle, thinking it was required, when my friend showed up and explained that it was an optional super boss. So much time wasted. x.x

I'm still holding out (a fading) hope that we'll see this game in UMD form over here, or a least in Europe where I can import it. Seeing as how I hate digital downloads and I don't intend to get a Vita, chances of me getting this game are pretty much slim to none, but I can still dream.

That collectors edition looks nice, by the way! It's a shame my knowledge of the Japanese language is sort of lacking (i.e. non-existent), or I'd hit up Play Asia for it.

Japan gets more exclusive FF stuff :/
It's not as though the franchise sells less than amazing over here, share some of the love!

For any collector's edition, I try to imagine it with dust all over it, and it usually persuades me not to buy it. Because I'm lazy when it comes to dusting.

The demo was actually fun so I'll be picking it up for sure if they localize, please localize, to bad any collectors edition for the PSP won't ever be released in north america. Anymore anyway.

I also enjoyed the Demo more than I thought, I can imagine if it can be this addictive with just a very limited number of missions, characters and things to do, I cant imagine the full game then...

I cant wait for this game to come, Im 100% Square Enix will localize this game as they do with all their FInal Fantasy games.

really hope that they will localize this. im really damn frustrated that MHP3rd and VC3 didnt have english releases. think its bcoz they are losing faith in the psp outside of japan.
