This is it -- the moment Final Fantasy XIII fans have been waiting for. The announcement of a potential announcement for the third series installment, Final Fantasy XIII-3, in the form of a domain-name registration months before XIII-2 is even released. Please, contain your excitement. Corporation Service Company registered finalfantasyxiii-3.com on September 7; Square Enix has previously used CSC to register its domains and this fits Square's modus operandi.
XIII-3 hasn't yet been officially announced, but XIII-2 is expected to drop in January 2012.

can we please have vs.13 out before 13-3?!

No. Square would much rather pump out unecessary sequels to unecessary sequels, and remaking Final Fantasy 4 than finish Versus 13.

Versus isn't being delayed for/because of any other Square project. Two completely different development teams.

Could this be a trend that each Final Fantasy will be trilogies.. because that could get really confusing a few numerals down the line

Maybe it's the BF3 fanatic that snatched up Moderwarfare3.com. Perhaps he's a Tales fan?

There have to be death threats and childish nerd rage over not translating games that have mediocre sales records in the US for it to be a Tales fan

Where the f--- is Versus 13?
Square, why don't you focus on your ANNOUNCE games first? You know the one you announced MORE THAN FIVE YEARS AGO.
Gran Turismo 5 and Final Fantasy Versus 13 were the prime reasons why I bought a PS3. Had to wait a long time for GT5 (and it wasn't as good as I expected at launch). Now I'm still waiting for V13. Ugh

Awesome! I can start hyping myself for a game I will never play.
But seriously...XIII is the most polarizing game since VIII, and they do THIS?
Okay then.

You're glad that you bought a game used that you returned anyway?
So glad I spit out that bad tasting gum. It came from under a table anyway.

How does one of the most boring RPG's of all time get 2 sequels? damn... The story was so dull, half the cast were just annoying, the gameplay was frustrating and flawed, and even the music was piss poor!

@Theneverendingsoda I see your point, but the PS1 also had Final Fantasy Tactics (not knocking it at all, my favorite game in the series, in fact.) As well as Final Fantasy Origins.

@Axcalibur I thought the music was pretty awesome in parts. The gameplay was never frustrating. Once it opens up, I really felt like I needed to know what to do at all times otherwise I got rocked. I don't know how I feel about a XIII-3 when what I would love is Versus 13, but I'm done pretending like I know what SE might be thinking.

In terms of the music - I found many times the music would be so loud, that I could hardly hear what the characters were saying. And there is no way to alter the musics volume. I also found that the battle tracks were a bit poor, and those tended to be the tracks you heard most.
In terms of gameplay - I suppose it's a case of preferring the older "turn based" style, over the more "action" style.
I also felt it was at times unnecessarily difficult - almost to the point of being cheap. Lots of trial and error - which I credit to poor game design.
In terms of the story - maybe I was just so bored of the linear gameplay (because let's face it, the first 8-10 hours is just a straight path) - I just couldn't get into the story, or even care. Lighting is just some b!tch - why should I give a damn about her.
After playing Deus Ex and seeing what Square Enix can accomplish (because, literally, that's the best game they've made since joining together) - it makes me disappointed in games like Final Fantasy 13.

You should've played more. The first few hours are lame, then it's cool and then it opens up a LOT. So much, in fact, that I'm still playing it, after 93 hours.

Not sure if want.
I liked 13 but this all depends on how 13-2 is and how faraway. V13 is.
Maybe Verses 13 will be 13-3?????????

Pretty sure that there's no RPG, let alone a Final Fantasy one, that can give you a decent glimpse in 1 hour.

We don't want it but we'll still buy it. If we don't and it sells well in Japan we can kiss future security in getting most RPGs from Square-Enix. Which we'll totally have a bitch-fit about.
So, in essence, they're taking us hostage and we're paying them to do it. If they do make a third one, here's hoping that the second one is flipping fantastic.
