Namco Bandai teases new 'Tales of' title

Tales of Xillia and its Ayumi Hamasaki theme song has only been available in Japan for a few days, but that won't stop Namco Bandai from diverting ~~money~~ attention away from its new release and onto an even newer, less available and yet more mysterious entry in the Tales series by way of countdown website.

Since the website is registered to a .co.jp address, we figure the reveal will most likely be a new entry in the series, rather than a US release for Xillia or other stateside news. Also, the big sparkly glowing "New Tales of" is kind of a dead giveaway.

New Tales of Not Being Released Outside of Japan.

I hope its something PS3 only & it boosts PS3 sales even more in Japan :P

Tales of Graces F is coming here and Tales of Xillia is probably going to do the same with the sales it saw in Japan.

I've been sitting on the fence about getting the sequel. The original is one of my top 5 favourite games of all time, if not the best, and i could definitely go for some more, but i dont want to soil the original with the averageness of the sequel.

I could care less if a new Tales comes out over here. We never got Tales of Heart, Tales of Destiny Director's Cut, Destiny 2, the Radiant Mythology games past 1, or the update of Vesperia for the PS3. They brought out Naruto Ultimate Ninja 5 in Europe, but not in the US, they STILL haven't released Tales of Graces F, though they've given it a release date in euope for 2012. As for trying to sue CD Projekt?...

Yeah, Namdai can freaking rot for all I care. I wish they'd go bankrupt. They're ideal of bringing out a half-arsed game, then some enhanced edition several months later without offering a DLC upgrade for it's user just peaks my rage in such ways it's not funny. Paying for a beta is not fun, and it's why I stopped buying Final Fantasies. International Edition... feh.

They did mention that they were developing a Tales for the PSV. A new Tales is always good in my book.

I think they're always working on at least three of these across the different platforms, so this was a given, but its reassuring like the sun rising!

Still waiting on Tales of Graces F. Oh well, at least Abyss 3DS is coming early next year.

Same font as the Tales of Destiny titles. I'm thinking Tales of Destiny 1 & 2 compilation for Vita.

Which means the US is definitely not getting it, since we went and released Eternia for PS1 under the name Destiny II, thus never got the actual Destiny II for PS2, nor any re-release of Eternia.

@OshiHidra chart needs to be updated....for one thing Abyss DS isnt Xed for US when it's 100% confirmed for release there...same with Graces. a few other errors but mostly right

Yes, i know its out in japan, i actually played the JP Demo before I even decided to buy the PS3 Version. But i want an US release :P

Things Gaming Fans Should Never Expect:

1) Half life 3

2) Half Life 2 Episode 3

3) Diablo III released before the end of days

4) "Tales of" being released outside of Japan

5) Duke Nuk.... er, wait. I guess there is some sort of morbid hope.

I hope it the tales games for the ps3 hopefully they bundle grace & vesperia together i would buy this immediately.

No offense, but whining about it won't make it magically better. I personally prefer tri-Ace RPGs when it comes to pseudo real time battle systems.

Just because you don't particularly like Tales of games doesn't mean that other people don't enjoy them.

Finally! Tales of Japan!

Make it on the ps3 (cause its not region locked), give it english subtitles, and i will import it. You will have my money in your bank account and i have the game in my console. Everyone is happy and the world goes on.

They should package Symphonia 1&2 together with remastered graphics and HD support and then release it as a PS3 exclusive- it would probably do pretty well. Heck, even if I only got ToS 1 I'd be happy, as Symphonia 2 isn't as good. Still, wouldn't hurt to have it anyway.

A new Symphonia 3 would be nice too. The Symphonia branch of the Tales' series has really been the only interesting one to me. Aside from that, its pretty mediocre IMO.

@Alpha Rogue I see, so it would "hurt" the game to have better visuals and better clarity...Right.

No reason to hold something like this back for purposes of nostalgia. Everything can be improved. Symphonia is no exception- bring on the HD.

Just give us Destiny Directors cut and Destiny 2 in the West already!
