so you dont have to have everyone out at once? I would be much more interested in this game if you could play with just one character there

i have all ratchet and clank game, and because of the multiplayer they always make a crappy story to focus on the multiplayer and forget to make a good story, and that's why i i always skip games with multiplayer

Ratchet and Clank Up Your Arsenal had fantastic multiplayer, I wish the PS3 series expanded upon that element,

I miss games that put the effort into a polished single-player experience that one could play at their own pace. Too rare nowadays.

@mbarriault Is the fact that at least 5 of the other Ratchet games were single-player only not enough? Let them try new stuff with this series.

@Behonkiss I haven't played Ratchet since they stopped being witty with the humour and went the crude and obvious route (which I believe was in the second installment).

@mbarriault I can't count how many great single player games I've played this generation. If you honestly feel it's a rare find, you must have very, very, very, very narrow tastes ... that, or you just don't like video games period.

Correction: There are a lot of single player gritty realistic shooters and gritty realistic open world games in this generation.

Now if that doesn't appeal to you, or you got sick of those kinds of games long ago, this generation sucks.

Who doesn't have 3 gamer dudes they can play with?
Surprised they even bothered to give it a single player option in this day.

@Rain Me for one. My friends are all grown up, married, and moved away. They don't have time for games anymore whereas I still do. So yes, I'd opt for the single player experience anytime.

Yeah, I have 3 people on my friends list (and one of them arguably confused their PS3 for a Roku). Either my existence is very sad or not everyone has an army of people to play with every time they go online.

Or both. Probably both.

Not all of us have friends who game. Not all of us spend hours waiting for those who game to be online. Not all of us are social elites that have 520 Facebook friends. Multiplayer should be an option - not a requirement.

I'm still going to give it a shot, as I'm a huge R&C fan. Who knows - I might actually enjoy it.

You've only reiterated this sentiment 3 times on this page. We get it. Let's move on.

It looks like fun for those who play games cooperatively. However, I game by myself and I am worried about teaming up with a bot. Really, really worried. There are too many new games I want this Fall... unless my fears are assuaged by comments and reviews when the game finally lands, I think I'll spend my money elsewhere and pick this up after the price drops.

Sorry R&C, I really liked your past installments! Please prove me wrong!

The BOT you play with was recreated using a HUMAN playing it - and the AI was programmed with that interactivity.

This game will rock the house and then some!

GO RATCHET&CLANK!! (and Dr BigEvilhead and Captain (sorry President) Qwark!

I'm down for some co-op R&C, but the overall gameplay seems not at all like what I'd want out of the series. I understand why they've gone the same-screen co-op route, but it looks like it'll result in a lot of 2D segments and "launch Clank to platform X" ...things (puzzles is the wrong word).

I'll wait until I can try it for myself before rendering judgement, but I am strongly skeptical of this game.

I just wish they had focused on the single-player and made the multiplayer more like Up Your Arsenal.

I've been playing the multiplayer beta and even though I've enjoyed it for what it is and had a lot of fun, it's not a good Ratchet and Clank game. It's just a good game. Some of the lines are funny - there's still plenty of humour - but the gameplay has been drastically altered from previous installments and ultimately, you could swap oh the characters for any other set of characters and it'd make no real difference.

Don't get me wrong - I'm liking All 4 One, but not so much because it's Ratchet and Clank. It does feel like the type of game that belongs on PSN and Xbox Live Arcsde, though. The AI also doesn't seem completely perfect - maybe it was just the beta, but Clank liked to get me killed a lot, or run out in the open and get himself killed.

This. Even without having played it, this is EXACTLY how I feel as a harcore R&C fan. I love Insomniac but, for the first time ever, I think I'm going to skip a R&C game...

I love me some Ratchet & Clank but this one just isn't appealing to me. I appreciate that they are exploring different things in the R&C universe, but I'd much prefer a traditional R&C game. I'll play it eventually, but so many other games this fall take priority over it.

I wanna get this game been looking forward to it for months I have friends that can jump in and play the co-op with me instead of having to deal with a computer controlled teammate.
