According to plenty of angry forum posts from players of NCAA Football 12, a recent patch for the game has broken or hampered several key features including no-huddle play calling, custom playbooks and, most rampantly, the Dynasty Mode. Apparently, players on both the 360 and PS3 have received frequent "Transfer Failed" errors when attempting to upload the results of games in the online mode.
A company staffer going by the name of EA_Jaga on the EA forums informed players that the error had been fixed, but the dozen or so posts right after from users still getting the "Transfer Failed" error indicates otherwise.
We've reached out to EA for some sort of timetable on a fix. We'll let you know what we hear.
[Update: EA tells us that the custom playbook issue was fixed by the recently released Title Update 2. The other issues are still under investigation.]
[Thanks, Russel]

This is just terrible.
I actually really enjoyed the heck out of NCAA 11 last year, aside from recruit ratings being broken, which caused me to buy this years edition as well. The customization features keep dynasty mode interesting and rewarding, but little else was good about this title. The passing game was broken worse than ever (I watched a good 10 football games this weekend. Didn't see linebackers jumping 30 feet into the air to swat passes down very often) but still easy and not challenging at all. Custom Playbooks were broken from the start too. The promised visual improvements were broken from the first patch...and the player tendencies problem greatly impacted how the game played. Now this? I like the NCAA team a lot, but get your stuff together guys.

Things didn't go wrong like this before Xbox entered the market. Developers have it backwards: code for PS3 and port to 360, not vise versa.

The PS3 is more advanced not crap, the 360 is practically off the shelf PC components. Of course being more advanced is only worth a damn if developers invest time into it, which they don't seem to be doing. So all the advanced tech has for better or worse been rendered moot.
The Blueray is slow because Blueray only has one read speed, its a technical limitation. But it means games that ship on the 360 that require multiple disks only require one blueray. I think of that as a tradeoff.
And they patch it constantly ....... because they are idiots who have gone mad with ultimate patching power.

@Co The problem isn't what system they code for. The problem is that many developers rely too much on patching games after release not. Before this generation a game was released "as is" any bugs or glitches either resulted in a terrible review or a delay in the game's release. Just three years ago around August & September we would hear about games being delayed until January, February or March because there were too many problems with the game.

@Scuffles
FYI
DVD drives like in the X360 average 6x with 12x on the outer rim and 2x on the inside (thats is DVD speed spec) (~63.3mibits/s)
Blu-ray drives are same speed across entire plater. That is 2x blu-ray spec on the PS3 (~72mibit/s)
the 2x on a Blu-ray is faster then 6x on a DVD drive
Since the average speed of a DVD drive is slower the actual throughput of the Blu-ray drive is faster
But if you need fast access to data with a x360 DVD drive you can place it on the outer ring and access it faster (~15% of the drive space) then a Blu-ray player

It's such a shame that EA was able to strong-arm MS into letting them use their own servers in the early days of this generation.
They have absolutely no concept of how to manage their servers. They have 10x the problems of any other company, they shut down their servers for games, and worst of all half the time they ignore all their issues.
Did you know that about 50% what's left of the NBA Jam community can't play the game online? They just get an error that they can't connect to the servers. It's been this way for a MONTH now. The online component just doesn't work. For a MONTH. And EA hasn't even commented on it. They actually have people on their forums moderating the NBA Jam section and deleting the posts of irrate people who go to far in their complaints, but apparently they can't find the man-power to even get a person to make a post about it, much less fix it.
Just a bunch of rich goons.

@Vcize NHL 11 had glitch when you were joining online team play it would get stuck(every time), and you'd have to dasboard or restart the XBOX. It was like that for months (could still be), but I found a way around it on some forums..no thanks to EA. I think the NHL series is the best of sports, but bugs like this always seem to be there usually not as major though.
