Team Meat teasing Mac/Linux version of SMB with anniversary celebration

Super Meat Boy is coming up on his birthday, and his two dads are celebrating the only way a dad can mark any milestone: A really great mug. They're $15 and frankly they're just adorable. But friends, we didn't entice you here with promises of new drinkware choices, no, you want to know about the possibility of SMB on Mac or Linux. Fair enough.

While teasing the SMB birthday festivities (planned throughout November) Team Meat's Tommy Refenes wrote "perhaps you non-PC people will finally get what you are constantly bugging us for," which sounds an awful lot like the arrival of the aforementioned ports.

Usually, we'd have to be pretty desperate to cook up meat that's a week old, let alone a full year, but we'll make an exception in this case. (Other exception: Stew. You put some year-old meat in a pot, add some broth, a potato, baby, you got a stew going.)

@eat it You should buy the game too, especially since the anniversary celebration will likely include a sale on at least one of the major platforms, with Steam being the most eager to put the game on sale and also being the launching platform for the Mac version via SteamPlay(so, if the Mac version goes on sale for launch...so will the PC version).

there's no PS3 version. and my computer is really friggin old

You'd need to be running a Commodore 64 to have a computer too old to play SMB. It's in no way graphically intensive.

My netbook was choppy, but playable until the end of chapter 2 (Boss fight was unbearable). So really anything that costs more than $300 will be fine.

Much to the detriment of technology and society. Apple products are just polished and overpriced versions of existing products.

Actually, Apple has surpassed Microsoft in sales since last year, the iPad alone has outsold all other PC brands. Not to mentioned that most of the existing popular digital products out there are cheap knock offs of Apple.

The Mac news just keeps on rolling today! Nice. Now just tell me were getting BF3 so I can die happy.

PSN Version please! Sony were stupid for turning this game down...

@CoolDust They've already said that they wont make a PS3 version. Due to some deal they got with Microsoft. Ether way I think they'll hit a much bigger market with a linux version since even the PS3 can run that, ohh whoops...

I use Linux, and by the looks of all the other comment's that don't even mention it I'm the only linux user on this site.

I thought those mugs were toilet rolls.. eventually there would come a day when you had to use them, and know it was your own lack of foresight.

@Haggard Probably a couple hours after you eat the stew with the year old meat.

In my eyes I don't see Mac's as that expensive, instead I see non-gaming PC's as fairly cheap.
That said while I don't mind using a Mac I'm currently still a PC
