I dunno, it looks pretty good for a 3DS game to me. Plus, Ultros and FF6 boss theme confirmed!

@Behonkiss lolwhat?
It looks good for a $0.99-$4 smartphone game, but it doesn't come close to what a quality $40 3DS game should look like...
I mean, if it was some kind of amazing game, meh graphics would be totally forgivable, but the gameplay also looks like what you'd expect from a smartphone app.

Looks 'good' for a 3DS title? Yeah, sure. Meanwhile, the SNES is laughing from the early 90s.

Gameplay wise this actually looks pretty awesome, especially since EBA is one of my favorite DS games, and I'm digging on the artstyle. So this pretty much just skyrocketed up my interest meter

At first, I thought this was a bleh idea...
But hearing them fight Ultros to the VI boss song convinced me this will be good, lol.

Let's judge the visuals on a low-ass res youtube video. THAT'S professional!
At least you're being more professional than Kotaku, who had nothing to say but "This game looks like it's CRAP"
Joystiq, why do you fall closer and closer to the pit of shit that is Kotaku each day? You used to be cool.

The graphics do look, a bit underwhelming. Not a fan of the SD design ether.
Actual game looks EBA like though, which is cool.

It's great to see people who had no part in the creation of these classic games whatsoever repeatedly ramming the characters the death. Am I the only person that remembers the days when you jizzed yourself when you saw an FF7 character in a game like ehrgeiz or a model of cloud in a comic shop. Now they're in every game square produces and I dont even wanna start talking about the amount of merchandise avaliable! Just stop!!! Here's an idea, make a game that can stand up on its story and mechanics alone without using well known characters to sell it. NERD RAGE!!!
Posted: Sep 12th 2011 1:35PM FuzzyPierce said
@Brained You mean like FF8, FF9, FFX, FFXII, and FFXIII?

Posted: Sep 12th 2011 1:51PM ZexionArmando said
@Brained Problem with that is, then nerds whine cause they want their favorite characters to be in other games, and rage when a new game isn't like the amazing old game.

@Snowblind
It looked pretty, and the music was fairly good (though not epic like earlier titles). I was a fan of the world and character designs as well.
Gameplay was underwhelming though, due to the linear nature and refusal to give full control in battle under very later in the game.

I'm not trying to steep my morning in Haterade or anything, but... I mean... A rhythm game you play on a handheld, with tangentally related, mediocre-looking Final Fantasy action going on in the background? I literally can not think of a game that appeals to me, less. This is what they spent all the cash the fans have shelled out for re-release after re-release on? Yeah, I'm good, guys. Thanks.

Quite on the contrary. I have a suspicion very little money was spent on this, and the many pieces of gold were spent on the "Game's Title Department".
They are hard at work on the next Kindgom Hearts name. I suspect something like "Sleeping in the Code of Time ReMix - Type Mickey". It would be browser game for Android tablets only....for Tibet probably.

This game needs more than a trailer composed of random clips from the game. I'd like to hear more info about this game, especially a purpse as to why I would play this game. Looks to me like Elite Beat Agents/Ouendan with a Final Fantasy twist, obviously.

I love Elite Beat Agents so this looks promising. I wouldn't mind an old school Final Fantasy in that weird graphic style.

I'm not entirely sure what I just watched... but the art style looks fun and love me some FF music, as well as looking for more 3DS titles ATM so this will do fine.

Totally bought my 3DS for this game.
You can't really compare a console Final Fantasy, nor Type-0 which has been in development for years to this. It's not a numbered Final Fantasy game, it's..a rhythm game. The end. As as a rhythm game, it looks fantastic.
As one of the only original 3DS games being released for the system rather than a port? Gotta love it.
Don't love 3DS region locking. Day 1 purchase if it gets localized, please? (:

I like spin-off's like Worms Blast or Final Fantasy Crystal Defenders, but I'm afraid I would rather focus on sound and key combinations than simple, nice graphic - and that is bad. :|

If this is a $40 game then they are highly mistaken.
It does look like it could be enjoyable, but seems more appropriate as a download title than a retail title.
The part that disappoints me is when doing the rhythm part while the character is walking. They couldn't add some animations to at least make it seem like they were doing something unique while traveling?

That aside, I think this game's development must've been pretty crappy if they're going to reuse old footage of people playing Final Fantasy games. It's like: "These are better games you could be playing!" Way to go.
And you know what Square-Enix? MAYBE I WILL. *buys FFXIII*
...wait.

The fact it look remotely like a Final Fantasy-ized version Ouendan/EBA means I'll be getting it day 1. If iNiS isn't going to make it, due to only making crappy Lips titles now, let Square make it.
