Ok, 3D land reminds me of an pretty cool Mario in the image of Mario 64. Tired of Mario Kart, but I'm always up for a new Mario adventure game that looks pretty darn fun.

That is an awesome Mario Land trailer! It seems like they've incorporated elements of each of Mario's past adventures in this one. I have a feeling the 3D effect will be pretty damn sweet, too.

Also, it's really going to take some getting used to in Mario Kart when he drove straight into that water and just kept going. I'm positive that I will be avoiding those holes for a while until I force myself to drive into them. Too many years of avoiding those traps!

It's good to see some first party games for the 3DS, but other than Kid Icarus there isn't much for me to get excited about.

Holy moly this looks frekkin good. I know it's stupid to say bestM4rioEveR!!11! from one video but dang this level design looks amazing.

I will say I'm a tad disappointed though to see from the video the Galaxy2/Mario3 level select only cause I miss the 64/sunshine exploration hub.

The following contains 2D video of a Nintendo 3DS game for the Wii. 2D footage can be viewed on every screen.

Come on now, how can ANYONE be excited by another cookie cutter Mario game? Are you all mad or what? The exact same bloody game released over and over. It's deeply depressing that all Nintendo has to do to make their fans happy is dish out the same old shit endlessly. Nintendo died about 6 years ago, lucky for them their core fanbase isn't intelligent enough to notice.

So, you don't like something which automatically makes you supreme ruler of what's to be enjoyed?

I'm tired of Mario games, but I know others aren't and I also know that they aren't wrong to enjoy them either.

That said, this one seems like a hybrid between console and portable marios. So, it should be a little different.

But I'll be honest, I'd sooner happily live in a world where Mario can send out rehashes and similar games time and time again than a world where Call of Duty and Battlefield can... Right now the universe is in balance between the two.

@Dick Socrates socrates dick, like the real one we don't care for your theories on life, or in this case mario. Yes I know that mario isn't remade from the ground up in a new entry I really don't care I just enjoy playing mario games so I will continue to buy them.

@Dick Socrates So then the Playstation,PC,and Xbox most be even worse.
valve has remade the same FPS over and over for 10 years
EA gave us sports, music, and FPS over and over for 10 years
Activision gave us music and fps over and over again for 10 years
Microsoft gave us the same FPS over and over for 10 years
Bioware as given us the same game over and over for the last 10 years

Sega has bucked the trend .They tried a few different approaches with Sonic over the last few years

Anyone else going to instinctively hop over an ice ponds thinking they'll kill if you miss or provide a better shortcut than diving right in?

Oh how Nintendo toys with me.

3d land makes me think they hybridized mario galaxy and crash badicoot. It's like it's on rails at times, with those narrow stages.

These two games look like reason enough to get a 3DS.

Now if only they were less than 40 bucks...

Are they actually calling it Mario Kart 7? Or is that just a temporary thing until they reveal the actual name (like Mario Kart 3d)?

It seems that it's going to be. It's in the official logo and official literature from what I've seen and it's probably a bit late in the day to change it now. I'm surprised because Nintendo doesn't usually go for the numbered sequel. Perhaps they intended to rename it Mario Kart 3D, but as they're apparently now playing down the 3D aspect of the console, they just kept it as Mario Kart 7.

The whole reason I've been holding out on the 3DS was for a Mario game like this one. The price drop was very tempting but I'm scared to get a 3DS this holiday. I have this strong feeling that they will have a new 3DS by spring with the second analog slider.

I guess I could buy it for my daughter (of course I'll be using it). And then she can fully have it when the new one releases. You see the perks you get when you have kids.

But since you brought it up screw Mario, screw Sonic and most importantly screw Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Derps.
