I remember seeing that trailer for the first time and it literally being the reason why I bought the game. I hadn't heard a whole lot about GOW, thought it was just some overhyped shooter, but that trailer was amazing. Glad I jumped in because the GOW franchise is truly one of my favorites of all time.

i always loved that song. i found out about it when i first saw Donnie Darko. it was one of the major selling points for me when i saw it in the first gears trailer. Gears of War always has the most emotional and heart wrenching trailers. I dont know if i would like it playing during every other match though. maybe only if you stayed in the spawn you could listen to the song. i think that would be better.so that it just fades out as you run into battle and the sounds of explosions and gunfire take over. i would hate for the song to get played out

It seems ironic that Gears is thought of as Testosterone fueled, balls out manly blood and gore type of a game, when really its quite a heart wrenching and soppy storyline :'(

Yeah, despite everyone calling it a bro'tastic/bromantic adventure, there's much less popped collars, "respek knuklz", and beer-swilling Stone Cold style gunfights. Not that it's a bad thing, but when ARMY OF TWO brought in the karma choices, it didn't feel as bro'nounced.

But Jules' version is so much better. It's one of those situations where the cover becomes the default version of the song. Rather like "Me and Bobby McGee." I've actually seen Kristoferson perform it live, and it still sounds weird hearing anyone other than Joplin sing it.

As someone who just started playing Gears 2 again in preparation for Tuesday I have to say....
Man Gears 3 looks so good, not that Gears has ever really looked bad, but holy crap Gears 3 looks good, and from what I can tell it runs super smooth too.

Just finished gears 3 campaign earlier today, and I must say, one of the saddest story lines ever, but I loved every minute of it. Much better than the previous two! Now to just wait for the online servers to come up!
