Gears of War 3 weapon and character videos leak all over YouTube, cure what ails

Sure, Gears of War 3 may come out in a couple of days, but that knowledge alone isn't enough to quench the internet's insatiable thirst for juicy details. Information deprivation, when combined with insanely high levels of anticipation, can mutate into a virtually transmitted disease known colloquially as "Release Date Syndrome."

The cure for Gears of War 3's specific strain of RDS is available over the counter and can be found both above and after the break. The treatment is only effective when ingested ocularly, and cannot be swallowed, administered intravenously, or given as a suppository. Please keep in mind that this treatment program has not been approved by the FDA, and as such may be taken down at any time.

May cause increased heart rate, difficulty breathing, incoherent babbling and Release Date Syndrome.

Surprised all this was posted considering some of those videos are done by jtagging an Xbox. People have been getting banned for posting these.

Anyway, if anyone actually spends $45 on skins I'm gonna laugh.

I'm surely going to buy a couple weapon skins, but the fact that they're $45 to get all of them (at the cheapest) is ridiculous to me, especially when the Season Pass is only $30 and comes with weapon skins, characters, maps, and campaign.

And how many does the season pass include? I figured it was just one or two.

@DarkNightRJ Static skins are 240. Animated are 320. ($3/$4).
They haven't announced how many are coming with the Season Pass.

@DarkNightRJ Some. Savage grenadier, savage kantus, Mechanic Baird, Commando Dom, and Adam Fenix are preorder/Epic Edition bonuses. Minh, RAAM, Barrick, Bernie, and the Onyx Guard are all DLC. There might be more they'll add that aren't on the disc already when the later DLCs come out. And Cole Train is obviously from the beta. 435,000 people have him :O

Thank god, that's good news. He's been who I play as since Gears 1, would feel so wrong changing characters now.

I personally don't see any reason for removing any previously playable MP characters just because I know people are attached to them, it's who they like representing them. And there is definitely no reason to cut old characters and throw in multiple versions of the same character (3 versions of Marcus, Dom, Baird, and Cole? C'mon!)

I just practically beat Gears 3 on the internet with all these leaks.

And unsurprisingly, the threats of banning those who leak anything are proven to be weak at best, and essentially toothless at worst (or vice versa depending on how you look at it).

Monday can't come fast enough.

All of the vids are cool and I cannot wait for Gears 3 FTW!!!!

Many of those paid on-disc DLC weapon skins look kinda poor actually, and I'm not just saying that because they're on-disc DLC weapon skins.

Genuinely, none of these paid on-disc DLC weapon skins are making me think "oh my, I have to have that one".

The two paid on-disc DLC weapon skins I was most looking forward to seeing in action were Deadly Cute and Rainbow. Deadly Cute does the job, it's a pink weapon, but Rainbow animating in those "waves" just looks a little lame imho.

From the paid on-disc DLC weapon skins my favourites have to be Bloody, because that would look really good on a Lancer and maybe Retro Lancer, the Electric although from a distance there's not really gonna be much noticable and Thunderstorm is superior in every way.

Team Pulse is good too though I prefer the simplistic Team Metal design. Much more fond of the full-colour "solid" paid on-disc DLC weapon skins although I do wish you could combine a static design with an animation.

Nope, can't see myself buying any paid on-disc DLC weapon skins, the not-paid on-disc not-DLC weapon skins sit fine with me. Flaming Hammerburst and Gold Gnasher a go-go!

Soooo they're free downloads?

I must say .. I'm tempted on buying a new xbox just for this game alone..Wasn't so much into the multiplayer though for GoW ..Loved the campaign though ..And also if they ever do make a new Alan Wake game its probably going to be 360 exclusive yet again..Even though it would sell so well on the PS3 as well.. Really do wish both of these games were on PS3 to be honest..Maybe in the future we'll see a port for it ..Haha who am I kidding.. I'm surprised Mass Effect got ported though..So that makes me happy..

It's ridiculous that there's already how-to achievement videos and what not up on xbl. Couldn't they wait till tuesday?

Okay so I'm a bit out of the loop with this whole skin debacle. Does anyone know which ones in the video are paid downloads and which ones are attainable by just playing the game? Some of the weapon skins looked spiffy and I'll be a sad panda if they are all paid downloads :(

Ah I see. Thanks for letting me know. That's a shame though. I really liked a lot of the blue colored ones.

I would hope if I buy this "season pass" I'd get ALL the stuff that will be coming out. Like with LA Noire, Mortal Kombat, and the upcoming Elite for Modern Warfare 3. I planned on staying away from any Gears 3 vids, but I think I'll have to check them out just to see what this is all about.

Nope. The complete skin pass costs more than the season pass. Pretty sure the pass is for map packs only. With a few bonus skins.

I don't mind supporting developers and publishers, but I think that's a bit much. THen again, it's optional. I don't have to buy them and they don't enhance my playing experience. So it's cool, but I don't see buying any skins unless it's a character I like. Weapon skins, I think I'll pass.

Man I wish I still had my piece of crap Xbox just for this game.. They'll never go to ps3, but here's to hoping it at least comes out on pc.
