You know there's more to music than butt-rock, and the mainstream artists you mentioned, right?

of course. obviously i'm just bitter that that shit even exists, because the fact that it does, and is so wildy popular, is a testament to the way our nation is evolving....or should i say, devolving? in other words, Hollywood is all out of ideas, the mainstream music scene is complete bullshit, modern rock is full of pussies, and everyone just keeps floating by, accepting it...embracing it, even. can't wait for 2012, because obviously those Mexican prophets knew the world was going to get sucked up its own asshole on that day of days.

@Liquidfingers Calm down tough guy. You realize there's way more music than on the radio - actually that's what makes right now the best time for a music listener. There are so many GREAT bands and artists out there you to discover if you spend a little time looking on the internet. If music on the radio annoys you so much, you could just not listen to it.

Song's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. Still kind of bad though but luckily you'll only hear it in advertisements and the end credits probably.
Of course this article will be filled with people who think this is what the entire game will sound like and will whine "BRING BACK AKIRA."

The song may be a bad marketing attempt at attracting more people, but the game genuinely has me interested. I want to experience the content of the game, the song is in no way a deal breaker. It's limited to the main menu, and has no effect on the OST by Daniel Licht.

@(Unverified) I was expecting a terrible terrible song, because I don't like Korn, but it works well.
It won't bother me when it's essentially for the attract mode and commercials.
The graphics got pretty damn good too. Murphy's facial animations haven't been fully finished I think, though.

The song wasn't as awful as I had set myself up for, and it was actually kind of nostalgic to hear Korn again. It's been forever since I listened to them.
What really got me was the animation. It didn't look... great. It was painfully stiff in some parts. Regardless, it's Silent Hill and I'm buying it.

Even though it was on a last gen system I still feel that Silent Hill 4 looks far better than any of the recent outputs.

Last-gen had a difference in specular maps. Cars weren't as shiny as the trees that are as shiny as Marcus Fenix's armor, which is as shiny as his skin, which is as shiny as his bandana. Last-gen had a difference between the way light looked on human skin vs. metals. Couple that with the limited use of light in general in the games, and it made it look a lot more realistic because your eye is perceiving everything to interact with light the way it normally does. This gen wants everything to be shiny. It's actually started to kill the look of some games, imo.

Exactly what I was going to say. It doesn't help when the most used engine is one of the worst engines out there. Buck up and program one in-house, or at least invest in one that doesn't look like garbage.

Usually I maintain hope that Silent Hill as a series will be good again some day but this abomination of a trailer is forced me to finally let go. All it took was a little Korn and a lot of shots of characters standing on and slipping off cliffs.

That was terrible. Game doesn't look scary at all, music is completely mismatched. I don't think any of the current Silent Hill developers really get what made the first Silent Hill games special. I guess I'll go play through SH2 again...

Um, excuse me? Just because one member of a band that was never even death metal becomes Christian, that doesn't mean the whole band is. Korn is far from that.:p

Wow, can't say there is anything that strikes me as remotely fresh or interesting coming from TGS. It would appear that the Japanese aren't even trying anymore.

I'm going to echo a lot of the sentiment above and say that the song really isn't as bad as it could have been. I don't think it particularly suits Silent Hill, but it's also not so far out there as to leave me scratching my head.
