Arkham City's Animated Series Batman skin is exclusive for GameStop PowerUp Rewards members
60
That stylish Animated Series Batman skin (complete with the white triangles for eyes) is now officially, and apparently only available as an exclusive from GameStop, according to information on the company's store. Players who have a PowerUp Rewards membership (that card and Game Informer subscription GameStop's employees are always trying to sell you) will get access to the skin, a replica from the classic 1990s Batman: The Animated Series.
Of course, Kevin Conroy, who voices the Bat in the games, started his tenure as the World's Greatest Detective in the series, so putting his voice and this costume together again will be a nice homecoming for fans. There was also a rumor going around that the same skin would be a GAME exclusive overseas, but that company is apparently offering Robin as a playable character, a bonus already revealed for Best Buy in the US. In other words, pick your pre-orders carefully out there, people.
[Thanks, Alan!]

Just wait a couple of months and all of the DLC will be on PSN and XBLA.

It's like that old creepy guy who offers people candy on the street.
Sure you don't trust him, and by the way he's always shifting and shaking, he probably has a disease or two, plus he always tell you some BS about some "new cool thing", and he has probably already sucked on that candy a fair bit, but it's either take the sucked on disease ridden old candy, or walk away thinking to yourself, "I feel bad for the moron who went for that".

Hopefully there's a chance that we'll see all these pre-order bonuses as DLC later on down the line. Bonuses aren't so bad when there's just one or two, but this game seems to have a different one for every store, and most of them are good.
Really though, the ideal scenario would've been just having these things in the game as unlockable bonuses. Whatever happened to that system? I liked that system a lot!

Same with Gears3, each store has a different skin. /cry - Will probably show up in the Season Pass though.

@DMY what happened to the system is the foolish need for games to have dlc. xbox owners wouldn't buy the games if there was no dlc. then ps3 owners started crying like idiot babies about not having any dlc stuff not realizing that we have frickin bluray disc and that stuff would already be on the disc. companies saw that there were more idiots with ps3s than they thought so now we get charged extra for stuff that even if they doubled the game data for 360 game disc and added all of the dlc we'd still have plenty of unused room on the bluray disc. heres two different source articles.

I'm sure it will all become payable DLC down the line, but there is always that very, very slim chance. I kept waiting for the pre-order costumes that were retailer specific for Enslaved to come out as DLC, and they never did. And those costumes were more than eye-candy, since they changed up stats and what-not when worn.
BUT, I'm like 99% sure we'll be able to just pay for everything later for Batman.

Right right, now to sign up for our PowerUp Rewards membership, all you have to put your email here (We promise to only give it out to third party sites we trust!) your phone number here (We'll only call you every time a new game comes out asking if you want to pre order it!), get entered into a lottery of 500 where the person who wins doesn't get their copy opened and played in the backroom, -and 50% of your soul- (but that doesn't really matter) I mean free batman skin dude!

A lot better, better used game prices (Black Ops used is $55 at Gamestop [$50 if you're a paid Power-up Rewards member], $40 at best Buy), they give more money for trade ins (especially with their offers of 40%-50% extra for preorders), and the pre-order bonuses are starting to beat Gamestop (Best Buy gives you Robin, the Red Robin skin, and the Black Mask Hideout and the the Freight Train Escape challenge maps. Gamestop has the Joker Carnival challenge map, and I guess for being a powered up member, you get a skin for a character you already have).
Oh, and Best Buy doesn't "gut" games....never buy gifts from Gamestop.

I buy new from Amazon with release date delivery. It's cheaper, they have pre-order bonuses (either DLC or Amazon credit), and I don't have to stand in line for an hour to pick up a game I've already paid for.

Best Buy doesn't let you pay for the full game until you pick it up, you can only put $5 down. So sounds like someone is making up experiences. Also, Batman gives a $10 credit on Amazon (and a comic book). Batman at Best Buy gives you a $20 credit (if you do their preorder 5 deal), Robin, 2 challenge maps, and a skin. Plus they give out swag at midnight launches.

You should be careful with those words. Criticizing Batman the animated series is considered blasphemy in some circles.
I agree though, that skin is ugly and I love that cartoon. Besides, the trend is for it to become DLC at least 6 months after.

Prepare to be downvoted into oblivion.
The Batman animated series was one of the best series ever. It was closer to the original movie without the camp than any other series has been. It also launched the Batman career of the voice actor who has played him in every animated series since.
Altho the model up there is slightly off from the cartoon version, and the eyes are slightly too large (they go down too far.)

Like others have said, it's one of the greatest cartoons of all time. In my opinion, it's the definitive Batman.

I didn't either. My parents were really good to me and let me watch shows way beyond my age like The Day Today and Red Dwarf. I didn't understand any of it but I still laughed and loved every minute of it.
I found it very hard to go back and watch kids cartoons, with some exceptions.
Rocko's Modern Life, Samurai Pizza Cats, Inspector Gadget, Johnny Bravo. They were truly great.

Not really a huge fan of companies doing this, but it'll inevitably be released as DLC down the line. I'm more enthused about the Robin and Dark Knight Returns skins.

Playing with that skin will totally ruin the dark atmosphere of the game. It'd be like having Bob the Builder playing Alex in Clockwork Orange.

I was feeling down about getting this game at a much later date. But now waiting for a GOTY version with all this plus any DLC plus a lower price doesn't seem that bad.

As I do love Batman the Animated Series.....this is just kinda, meh.
If you could turn the whole game into the visual style of the cartoon....that would be cool. But if Batman is the only one who looks like the cartoon while Two Face, Joker, Catwoman..etc all still look like the new game version, it just kinda ruins it, imo.
