Technology: Play Wii on an Android tablet with an Xbox 360 controller

Sure, it seems easy enough: Play your Wii games on an Android tablet with an Xbox 360 controller. Technology! But underneath that simple premise is a complicated reality. First, you need to run the Wii games on a PC using the open-source Dolphin emulator. From there, you're going to stream the video to the Android tablet using the Splashtop Remote Desktop HD app on Android. YouTuber Obiwan222222 tossed an Xbox 360 controller in, but it's unclear if he's controlling the tablet's VNC client with it, or the PC directly (we're guessing the latter).

If this sounds similar to GameStop's planned tablet, featuring Spawn Labs-powered retail game streaming, or OnLive's upcoming tablet "Player" software, we agree. Mostly, it seems like the future ... a laggy, buggy future but the future nevertheless. Technology!

Next thing you know, Play a PS3 game on a gaming PC while using Kinect and Wii mote as the input controller for a FPS

The only thing missing is the PS3 emulator.
You can already use the Kinect, WiiMote, Playstation Move on the PC, at the same time!!

The Playstation Move can enhance the Kinect's control method and you can play PC games like that, if you want.

i sure like your idea, its just ... that freaking dildo for a controller! ... ugh!

I can already play Xbox 360 on my laptop..............with my 360 connected to a USB capture device lol. I do actually use this method while on trips that I need to be distracted on, it works great and theres no need to rely on a TV.

Oh, so it's just streaming an emulator on his PC to display and control on his tablet...

Make this process simpler and i am game.

This has never been done[shown] before because it's so crude and dumb that nobody wants to do it. Anybody with a remote desktop, tablet, xbox controller, pc, and wii emulator could do this. Nothing special done.

I've actually done this before myself, but with GameCube games, an iPad, and a 360 controller. I stopped after 5 minutes because there was too much lag between the PC and the tablet.

At first I thought someone made a Wii emulator for Android Tablet when I read the title, but it turned out to be something impractical we could have done for a long time now.

Not only did Onlive do it, they are trying to sell it to you.

Streaming with a remote desktop app doesn't count. He could pretty much do anything his PC can on the tablet screen

well, the tablet is slightly more portable than a laptop. now all he needs is somewhere to prop the tablet, maybe a hinge connecting to a base to keep it at a steady angle...... hey that laptop will do nicely...... just a little duct tape to fix the tablet to the laptop screen, and voila!

That's nothing. I can play Kinect soccer with only 22 people, a field, and a soccer ball.

i can do this on an iPad AND iPhone too RDP and VNC with Wii Emulators on any PC and tablet has been possible forever now... how is this a new thing?

don't know why this is so awesome, i can do the exact same thing just without unnecessarily streaming into a tablet.

what would be cool thought: being able to use the tablet as a 2nd screen and play splitscreen there. But still, that would depend mostly on the video card used rather than the ouput device

How about you show something noteworthy, Joystiq? Did you cover the guy who shoved the majority of a Gamecube into the PSP? That was good. This is shit. This is basically saying that because I can stream a play through of, lets say, Crysis 2 on a 10 year old PC that my computer can play it.

Holy crap, an Android tag!?

This post makes my head hurt. It also makes me wish I had mas much free time as some people out there...
