Urgent help needed to resurrect Mega Man Legends 3, says local paper ad

You can't squash the spirit of "100,000 Strong for Bringing Back Mega Man Legends 3," an online activist group that hasn't yet amassed its titular display of quantitative strength. The message is already reaching far and wide through a dedicated blog, Facebook page and coverage on outlets like this one, but what of the inattentive, uninformed supporters-to-be in Lagrange, Topeka and Shipshewana, Michigan?

Group member Paul Barrett posted a photo of his own grassroots effort to override Capcom's culling of Mega Man projects. "Urgent help needed!" reads the ad, placed in Tuesday's issue of The Gateway Shopper, a paper local to Southern Michigan and Northern Indiana. It politely asks for help in undoing the events of "the worst day in gaming history."

Even if only an (utterly optimistic) eighth of newspaper readers join the cause -- it appears The Gateway Shopper has a current circulation of 9,838 -- the group must still inch its way toward the halfway mark of 50,000 supporters. Of course, now that the paper's online, its effect has been considerably magnified.

Hey, don't blame us for digging out a speck of hope. We're already disheartened that, for many people, MML is gradually devolving into FML.

I kinda fail to see how 100,000 people saying they like the game will change anything, if say, 10m people signed a petition, that's pretty much a guaranteed million sales at least if the game is well received, which would be a decent ROI, and a good reason to keep developing the game, 100k says nothing though, if anything it shows a lack of interest.

Sorry, but my hatred for Comic Sans outweighs my desire for Mega Man Legends 3.

A bit dramatic. The release of Shaq-Fu was up there. So was E.T. The Dreamcast being canceled was another.

Wii game releases from 2008 to 2011 also take a good portion of the cake.

Yeah...MML3 getting canceled was bad. But it could have been worse.

@CaptainProtonX Stuff like that is why I went from a Legends 3 supporter to someone who wishes it was never announced just because all of the fans are turning it into something way worse than it is.
Games get canceled, games people are looking forward to get canceled, the difference is most people grow up, move on, and deal with it.

I was damn excited about Gun Loco, then it got canned. I was more angry about that then MML3.

Inafune Jobs, make another game. You are a genius, create a new hero, fans will make you rich, leaving the pig headed Capcorn on the verge of bankrupcy....then you buy the company and make the next Megaman.

That seems the only option now.

No kidding. After Inafune left the company, they lost everything that really made them Capcom in the first place. Now all they are is a fighter company that rehashes Street Fighter every 3 months and charges full price for it, even though the same thing could be done with a patch.

Yep CAPCOM is really hurting for money when they release Gold titles like Monster Hunter that sell to the majority of Japan

Know what they do produce iterations of their fighting games, but they're coming closer and closer to making what could be considered a perfect fighting game. Everything that is listed so far in SF x Tekken sounds incredible.

So know what I love Megaman, but I'm not going to let these game titles get me down. One of them MML3 wasn't even fully approved yet and was in prototype stages. Whatever I would have loved to see them but they're not going to happen. I'm more worried about localization of the MH games than to cry about whether or not a concept game was canceled.

Sigh.... A fine example of the worst aspects of gamers. Over-dramatization will surely help to get this game produced.

Eh. This doesn't even compare to N4G threads, as far as "bringing out the worst aspects of gamers" goes.

This is just a guy who really wants to play a game he's been looking forward to for a long time. Maybe this will give him the closure he needs?

Does anyone actually care to let Capcom get their hands on MML3 anymore, anyway? They're more-than-likely going to pump out a product that will barely live up to the DASH name, if that.

Remember back when games were good? Back when Mega Man was new...

Yeah I remember all the way back to yesterday when Gears 3 was released and deus ex came out the month before. Oh if only these newfangled games could be as good.

I'll admit, GOW was fun but I haven't played the last 2(I play PC). Deus Ex was amazing yes. But for me, 2 games stood out this year. Portal 2 and Deus Ex.

Two games..out of how many? It's like finding a diamond in a mound of broken glass these days.

Every game is either a failed console port or a new style of game that fails hard. (Brink anyone?)

Listen, I know nostalgia is a b*tch but let's not fool ourselves here. Games were not better back in the day, neither statistically nor individually. The games that we scoff at today would be considered a masterpiece 10-15 years ago.
Graphics are not the only thing that has improved, games (on average) are better all around.

I don't see how this scheme can fail. It's got all the makings of a success. You've got Comic Sans, Facebook Likes, hyperbole, and a dash of grammatical errors.

Just stopped by to say that Shipshewana is the only one of those cities that's in Michigan. The other two are in Indiana (but, in Ludwig's defense, they're very close to the border and he lives halfway around the world).

But yeah, I live in Mid-Michigan and the folks down by Shipshewana are strange.

I would have loved to play MML3 on my dust collecting machin... I mean 3DS but the petitions are bordering on embarrassing now (even without the comic sans). It's dead, let it go, we'll all be playing Super Mario 3D Land in two months anyway.

I live in southern Michigan and can in fact tell you that is not how we spell Citing. Those backwards folks across the border in Indiana I can't speak for.

We've been working hard trying to get this done (BEYOND just petitions, the facebook page is a starting point http://www.facebook.com/GetMeOffTheMoon) The more publicity the better. Grassroots baby!

Legends were good games but the fans are overreacting big time.

How about someone get some motivation, and just make a new RPG-like game similar to Mega Man. I'd MUCH rather support a few fans banding together to create an original piece from inspiration than putting my name on an internet petition to get Crapcom to do ANYTHING. I'm still waiting on PowerStone 3. That takes precedence over anyandeverything Mega Man related, coming from someone who played MML so much he had to buy a new disc.

@Bueno88 Powerstone was cool, but I would murder kittens for the Mega Man Collection and Mega Man X Collection to be released again on the current systems.
