Sure, it's all in Japanese. And sure, we're not really sure what's going on as a result, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the latest trailer for Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright on Nintendo 3DS. No plans exist for a US release yet, but Level 5 gives us hope with its recent news about Ni no Kuni. Layton next, please!
We don't object to this Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright trailer one bit

These games are on Joystiq so much it's ridiculous, are they like, incredible or something?? They must be the best games ever as much publicity as Joystiq is giving them, sheesh....

It's not just Joystiq, lots of people love them. (said love not being restricted to region or type of gamer) Both the Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright franchises are incredible and can be enjoyed by everyone. Give them a play. Both are on the Nintendo DS. (and the Phoenix Wright games can also be found on WiiWare)

Blame yourself for not having a DS, not Joystiq for covering great games.
You've had four-ten years to familiarize yourself with Layton and Wright. Within that period, you've had ample opportunities to complain about Joystiq's coverage of them as well ... and you choose now?

Stop, what are you doing!? If Capcom finds out that this game will make them money, they'll cancel it!

Or at least only allow the Phoenix Wright portion of the game available through DLC.

No, no, no. You must give your money to Level-5, since they're developing it!

I wish this gets US release, simply because the stupid 3DS is region locked. Or I hope Capcom port this to iOS instead.

I was keeping it together pretty well right up until 1:57, then I started going "EEEEEE!" at a pitch that climbed until it was only audible to dogs. Also, isn't it both weird and cool to see these characters 3D character models as opposed to sprites?

@Onomah I take it you haven't played Edgeworth Investigations yet?

It looks like it'll be more Phoenix than Layton (Unless this was a trailer highlighting the Phoenix side of things) and I'm just fine with that. Seriously though Capcom, do you just hate America? You have no problem cross-breeding Street Fighter with as many licenses that'll have it, but suddenly Layton and Phoenix crossovers are taboo for America? Do people in other countries think Americans can only handle the complexities of a Hadoken and nothing more?
Don't answer that question.

I don't mind this game one bit. Phoenix Wright and Layton together is EPIC! But what's wrong is Capcom. Are they really losing THAT much money. They're not even concentrating on independant games. All they care about is dang crossovers because the other company will share the expense.
But seriously, I'm sick of all these Marvel vs. Capcom, SNK vs. Capcom, Phoenix and Layton among others.
And the cancellation of MM Legends 3.
Capcom is falling. Keiji Inafune is right.

Normally I would be scared that this isn't coming to America, but I'm not even willing to play around with the whims of Capcom. This game is too important to trust those morons to make the right decision.
I am learning Japanese, and I am importing the shit out of this game as soon as it comes out. Not even joking.

Where does this take place? I've always wanted to be able to take a sword to court.
Also, no one but Layton could make a brown tophat look that epic.

Same here. I bought a 3DS yesterday for this and the Dragon Quest Monsters re-make (Buying a system for two games that aren't even guaranteed to be localized? For what I lack in brightness I make up for in enthusiasm).
The library may be flat-out horrible at the moment, but I've been shocked at what a nice piece of hardware the system itself is. Once things pick up, there's no excuse for it not to be a success.

This is great and all, but when is Miles Edgeworth 2 coming the US?!?!? The first one was my favorite in the series by far, and I want more.
