@Slomoshun Actially EA used Frostbie 2 for multiplayer online purpose only. Like They used Frostbite for Medal of Honor.

He was saying that EA only use Frostbite (of any sort) for multiplayer only.
But that isnt true at all.

Frostbite 2 is a great engine, But what can be done on it is still dependent on how good the developer is with it.
Look at homefront. Good engine, Dreadful looking game.

I don't understand why people bash COD and other 'franchises' (even non-yearly titles get shit for being "too similar")
And then Need For Speed tries to bring a new angle, attempt to make a story that isn't complete crap (i'm not saying I know it's gonna be good, it just looks better than EVERY OTHER NFS STORYLINE EVER) and bring a new angle to the game which is: Cannonball Run cross country race with a huge cash prize.
Cue all the fans being pissed off because it's not Most Wanted 2 or Underground 3. If they had made more of the same shit year after year you can bet your ass people would be bitching and calling if the COD of racing games.
I for one am looking forward to this one. I've wanted to play a game like this since I was a kid, it reminds me of Cruisin' USA and other stuff I grew up on. Like Sega's Outrun. They say it's got 3 times as much track as any previous NFS title and ontop of that they claim the QTE's are like less than 10% of the game... so we'll see. This one could turn out to be good or it could be marred by too many disgruntled fans bitching.

@Dreamscape Well, I think the game would be much better if the cutscenes were that. Cutscenes. Moments to put the controller down, relax and watch the protagonist do something badass and risky on-foot.
Apart from that, I like innovation in NFS. It made Shift and Shift 2 possible.

Can't argue with that. I'm not big on QTE's either. They weren't cool last generation and they're still not that interesting.

I wish NFS games had a consistent theme to them, seems like everytime they are trying some new formula because the last one didn't work.

I agree. But at the same time, The other way around would end up being like COD.
I think they like what they make, and make something different so they dont get bored.
But at the end of the way, They are all very different driving games.
Which is why i kind of agree.

need for speed is a racing game with a ton of awesome cars.
that's about all that needs to be consistent.

I was all excited for this game until I saw the footage of the "press-button-at-specific-time" gameplay. I have to say, I HATE those games. God of War is an example. I really liked GoW up until the first boss battle. And then I lost interested, and have never played since.

Thats not very common at all in God Of War. The QTEs in god of war arent really used for killing bosses, But for getting them in to a position to kill them.
And its done much better than this is!
It has that uncharted thing about its running sections, But takes all the control away from the player, Which is terrible, and it shouldnt be part of the game at all!

Forza is a driving simulator, most NFS games are completely different. I might buy this because it's supposed to give a cinematic action experience.

Normally i would disagree with you buddy but since ea pulled Porsche and then laughed in our faces with that trailer i wish nothing but the worst for this waste of gigabytes. It seems like every single year they come up with some new half assed concept that they didn't have enough time to work on.

EA didn't "pull" Porsche. They just decided to not to do a sub licensing agreement with Turn10. Yeah, it's kinda lame, but honestly it's not something to get all huffy and up in arms over. What you don't understand is that instead of Porsche being called Porsche they just renamed all the Porsche cars to "RUF" which is a company that makes custom racecars out of Porsche chassis. SO, you're not getting any less in forza 4 except it technically won't say "PORSCHE" on the back when you're driving one. It was the same thing in the original Gran Turismo games on PS2 if you remember.

Wow that looked awesome. I've played almost all the NFS games and that other than the out of car stupid moments, this looks like a lot of Hollywood infused gameplay fun.
