The Cluckshot is Gears of War 3's fabulous hidden weapon, here's how to get it

Standard issue anything is such a drag, you know? These days, you have to accessorize and customize just to get noticed on the battlefield, and even then it's become such a chore to stand out while staying alive. Sure, golden Lancers are cool and everything, but experienced COGs know that flashy blinged-out weapons only exist to give away your position and get you killed.

What's a Gear like you to do, then? Well friend, take it from the fashionistas over at GameFront: Chickens are the new black. Their helpful how-to video (above) details every little thing you need to do in order to unlock the Cluckshot, Gears of War 3's avian-themed (and rather literal) easter-egg weapon. With this trendy new weapon, you'll be the cock of the walk, and those fashion-backward Locusts will have egg on their faces!

Damn it. I did nearly all of that just playing the game and even accessing the weapons room I somehow failed to notice a large chicken wearing a pirate hat.

@arkweld...It has to be on insane, which requires at least one initial run through.

My initial playthrough I hit all 3 of the ammo pickups but we weren't on insane. My buddy killed every ash person anyhow. Thanks noah:o/

Since it was your first playthrough, you weren't play insane, so it doesn't matter. Insane only.

Haha nice. This ranks up there with the ostrich hammer of Red Faction and the glove from Dead Space2

Missed opportunity to re-skin a Lancer as a live chicken that shoots eggs from its rear

Pretty cool, but a bit too convoluted/involved for me to actually try it.

How so? Just play on insane and dont be a dick to the ash bodies, and naturally playing through you should knock over those ammo crates anyways. It's not like finish X level with Y time using Z weapon backwards while the kinect scans the room for cucumbers.
