We know you've been putting off deciding whether you want to be an evil mutant or a good mutant for a while now; however, judging by the X-Men Destiny launch trailer posted above, you're going to have to make your decision sooner rather than later. (We'd go with evil. Their coffee's better.)

No it does. Joystiq just uses viddler.

They could easily just use youtube. They're not making the money viddler is.

He said "ads suck" not just video ads... ADS... As far as the video is concerned, it doesn't matter what they use as the host for their videos, the host still needs to make money as well, allowing "sites like this" to keep running... So, we were both right.

Why does this game have to look so meh. Such an awesome idea. And it's not even a cheap tie in

As a coffee addict I will definitely go on team Eric.
Well, Star Wars tOR looks awesome and I don't really like playing more than one mmo at a time.

It's hilarious how many people think this is an MMORPG. There isn't even any online in the game! That's how cheap it looks - people assume the terrible animation and character models mean it's a big open online world with hundreds of NPCs and places to play.

Graphics so meh I couldn't really be any less interested. I love X-Men but so far, in my opinion, this is already a big flop.

Ive heard pretty bad things about this game but I'm really hoping its not that bad. I love X-men so much and I would hate for the license to be doomed to a horrible game. :(

either gonna have to play before i buy or wait for a discount/price drop. this does not look like a game I would impulsively throw down the big bucks for.

It's looks like a rental. Gamefly sent it today so I guess the gameplay will answer for itself Wednesday.

As cliche as "It looks like a PS2 game" is, that holds true here. It looks bad. I saw a gameplay walkthrough, and you get an achievement for ripping down a poster. A POSTER.
As great as Silicon Knights was before this console gen, THIS is their followup to Too Human?
X-Men games can be good. That Wolverine movie game was pretty enjoyable. This looks like a mediocre offline equivalent to DCU Online (similar setup and all).

To be fair, Raven is a better developer than Silicon Knights is. And they've already proven that they can do Marvel's mutants justice with Legends and Wolverine...unfortunately they've been rewarded for their hard work by becoming map-pack slaves for the Call of Duty machine, so the license fell to SK. It's a bummer, but maybe it'll sell well enough based on the Xmen name to warrant a sequel by a better team.

Wow... I had high hopes for this game... even when I saw the first in game stuff and thought "wow that looks like Xmen Legends with some new mechanics." But... this is just old graphics and at this point where this generation of consoles is at it's end it's completely unacceptable to release something that has LAST generation graphics. Graphics aren't everything but you are HARSHLY dampening the gameplay experience when you're overall graphics and animations look as horrid as this.

Has it been flying under the radar, or am I just not paying any attention nowadays?

Take it from me; I got early access to the game.
Finished in 5 hours. The replayability comes from choosing another power set (among three) and perhaps another character. The dialogue changes/scenes between characters is very small/non-existent. Only reason for multiple playthroughs are for trophies/achievements of challenges.
It's best to build up XP points via playing a simpler more then hard one, but again, you are playing essentially the same story and you only get a few different scenes by choosing Brotherhood or X-Men faction because many scenes have them meeting.
The game was fun, but not really worth full retail. I'd wait for under 19.99 or less on this.

Slow-mo instantly turns me off.
But the archaic look is quite unappetizing. And frankly, the X-Men franchise in general is wearing thin. Hell, I think I had enough when I was 13 and X-Men were still rocking Fox Cartoons.
Don't expect a big seller from this effort.

Don't be too hard on Silicon Knights. Remember, they're working for Activision.
Kotick: "We want you to make a game called 'Release Date September 27th 2011."
Silicon Knights: "What? But it's December 30th, 2010!! That's the name of the game? What kind of game is that? Who's in it?"
Kotick: "That's your problem. Just make it happen. We've gotta hit the streets before the real games show up. Also, if it sells more than a million we'll need a sequel same time, next year. If it sells less than a million, I'll be dismantling your studio."
Silicon Knights: "Uhh...can we make an X-Men game?"
Kotick: "Knock yourself out. Remember, September 27th. That's what we're calling it at HQ. Now, I gotta go, I gotta call the guys making Oct 4th."
Silicon Knights: "October 4th?"
Kotick: "Yeah, you know...I think it's a Spider-Man game or some such thing. Gotta go!"
