Just a heads up for everyone, the achievements for the Xbox version of Gun Runner's Arsenal aren't updated on xbox.com yet. If you earn any before they are, you'll have to recover your gamertag and earn them again for them to count towards your gamerscore..

@esbeekay They were available on PSN before Lonesome Road even came out. On XBox live, IDK.

Still too expensive.

@Faceless Troll Have you seen the amount of crap in the pack? It's easily 3 times the items you'll normally find in a weapon pack, at less then they normally cost.

Of course, at this stage the only ones we really have to compare it to are the horribly over-priced Bioware DA2/ME2 packs

@Tel Prydain Do I really want to spend money for a bunch of stuff that's probably not much better than what I'd find in the game itself?

I don't know. Do you?

For some, more options are always a good thing. Unlike a 'dungeon crawl' RPG, weapons in Fallout NV are rarely just 'better' then another. And if the pack just offered 'better' weapons then I wouldn't be interested.
Instead the weapons tend to be different. Different advantages, different drawbacks. If you want some variation, it's not a terrible price.

And frankly, with the amount of time I spend in the game doing the Failing Fallout blog, more variation is a good thing.

@Tel Prydain To be blunt, a couple of new weapon skins and bitmaps is not enough to hold my interest for more than a few seconds.

I just started a new game yesterday with a stealth/thief build. The Stash will come in handy!

I have lost so much interest in this series its not even funny. Unless they make a Fallout game with character animations that don't look like someone about to have diarrhea, I'm not going to play this series any longer, or purchase any of its DLC for that matter.

@MW49350 Though I would be excited to hear fallout using a new game engine I still don't care that you won't be buying the dlc.

@MW49350 If they made another one it would most likely use the engine that Skyrim uses. Maybe even the one that Rage uses.

@MW49350 Seriously. The standard character models are so damn unnerving. Why can't they follow the mod community and make the faces decent looking and without such frightening expressions? The character creator is also absolutely awful.

I got the Classc pack at launch. It was nice starting with some better items. But, I guess the last patch they put out actually disabled the pre-order bonuses. I started a new play through a month ago and none of the classic pack loaded into my inventory like before. that's kind of a bull shit move by Obsidian to remove dlc like that.

@Steve R

The pre-order packs act as game mods. Game patches sometimes disable any mods, DLC included,, so it's very possible that the pre-order bonus is still there but it was just disabled. You should be able to re-enable it if it's there.

This series is close to being the cheapest entertainment $/hr there is, but the bug/lag issues are starting to get annoying. The DLC's make this game almost unplayable. Dead Money somewhat laggy. Honest Hearts somewhat laggy. OWB extremely laggy. Lonesome Road extremely laggy.

PLEASE FIX THE BUGS/LAG NOW THAT THE DLC's ARE DONE!!!!

@(Unverified) It was laggy as hell before the DLC. It just didn't creep up on me until I had a good 40 hours in the game.

@dargondarkfire I've played for around 300 hours (obviously, not all on the same character) and never seen an issue.
I keep a backup of the 'Joe' save I use for the http://failingfalloutnewvegas.wordpress.com/ blog, but never felt the need to backup my other characters.

I haven't really had any problems on the PS3 version. Still haven't gotten any DLC though, so maybe it was one of the add ons that caused the problems?
Anyways, I am almost done with the core game, but I'll probably wait for the inevitable GOTY edition. I got Fallout 3 GOTY for $30 and saved myself a lot of $.

I can't imagine this is worth that amount. Most of those weapons, for anyone who has played the game for any decent length of time, are probably too weak to bother using right?

@sammo21 For the first pack, the pre-order stuff, sure. But some people like myself just like to collect everything. Also, if you don't have it already, the unique canteen is invaluable.

The second pack contains a pretty wide range of stuff. High level, low level and super ninja crazy level. It's balanced because even you buy the DLC you still have to folk over in-game caps to get the actual weapon.

The funny thing is that all the pre-order DLC is already in the game, and can be spawned via console commands. They are basically just charging to un-hide it.

@komentra People who don't play via Steam are essentially paying an idiot tax. I assure you that, by Christmas at latest, the DLC will be at least 50% off.

pffftt. I enjoyed NV quite a bit - but the game crashing bugs proved too much. Played it for 10 minutes a few weeks ago.........and it froze up. This was after waiting however long for the latest 'patch' to install.

So I deleted the game data from my HDD, it has lost it's place! I'll stick with FO3 and Obsidian can keep their wares.

Wow, I actually never expected Bethesda of all companies to do this. Pre-order DLC, finally released as DLC. And I'm still waiting for the baseball bat in left 4 dead 2.
