Q: What exactly is Blood Bowl, and should I purchase it?
All I know is that it's Warhammer and American football.

It's a fun game but has a massive ammount of bugs. For $8 it's kinda hard still because of the ammount of bugs there are for the game.

Blood Bowl really has nothing to do with the rules of American football (it was originally designed by the British after all). It's more like Rugby really.
Basically two teams line up, one gets the ball, and they need to get it in the opponents endzone any way possible. How you do this varies greatly depending on your team and it's strengths. An elf team is great at passing the game and dodging around people (and can quickly score points) while an orc team might try to bash the other team into little bits and forget about the ball entirely.
It's important to note that the computer game is based on the board game that has been played, added to, and refined for over 20 years now. The basics of the game are really quite simple, but there are a lot of different skills that characters can develop that can change the game quite a bit.
Where Blood Bowl (board game or computer game) really shines is in league play. In league play you start with a basic team and play games against others in your league. As the league continues players get experience and can get new skills and better stats. Other players get killed and/or injured and have to replaced. In this way some teams can become very strong, but no matter how strong the team is it only takes a few bad dice rolls for their star player to be dead and buried. It can be quite painful to 'win' a game only to be three players short in your next game (but that's part of the fun).

I think they made a mistake. I have a hard time believing that the regular price for Dungeon Siege I and II is $55 (each).

I'm kind of tempted to pick up Dungeon Siege at these prices but I'm in the middle of Dragon Age 2 and have other games on my shopping list. Bah.

I'm tempted to grab Blood Bowl every time it goes on sale, but I have an overwhelming feeling that I will be very bad at it.
