Mid November is pretty much standard for their Dashboard releases so this news seems pretty likely to me.

@KeegdnaB You've obviously never tried selling anything on eBay before. Paypal is a terrible system.

Actually, I buy and sell things on a daily basis for work. And on a number of occasions PayPal has gotten me out of a bind. I generally try not to purchase things in any other way.

What's the problem with PayPal?

As a Canadian paypal is a really awful system to use. Their exchange rates are no where near correct and, while I've had a few okay experiences with them, if you are using it to make a payment on anything other than an eBay item they are not going to be able to help you.

Paypal has a monopoly on internet money transfers and if you don't want to use it your only other option is to just not buy anything online.

@Startingline13 ArmlessOctopus I can't trust a system that holds a legitimate payment that was reviewed and completed for two weeks after completion and doesn't release it until you bitch at them.

Paypal isn't mandatory, I think they're just adding it as a payment option along with points and credit card (the latter of which they also must have just added recently.)

OK, but it generally works for making payments, especially to large companies. Im not really seeing the issue with Live integration.

@baby sea tuna The fact that it's optional doesn't change my hatred of Paypal.

@Faceless Troll - You realize that you already have it, right?

PayPal isn't a new feature with this update. It was added months ago.

I do when I can. I'd rather not use my credit card, though, just because I use it too much. I have, you know, real life monies that I'd like to use to buy things. It'd be nice if I could actually use this money instead of using credit.

I think that only happens if you're naked. Certain body parts apparently confuses the Kinect sensor....

I really wish I could just update my home screen with like 6 things that I want.... Disc, Games, Netflix, Settings, Game Marketplace, and a general media tab (music, video, access to media server). That's all I want Microsoft.

I would buy an xbox for that. I've been whining about toggling the visibility of sections of the XMB forever. I will never use the photo section or the music section or even the network section so let me hide them.

But then they couldn't fill the menus with ads!

@eat it I don't mind the XMB because how fast you navigate through it and there are 0 ads for anything outside of the store preview box. I have 2 media servers at my house so the XMB works really well without having to open up menu after menu.

@SisypheanLife Are the ads really that big of a deal? Its almost always new content ads on the marketplace or deals. If it is a real ad it usually has some sort of contest or mini game. Its not like they are pop ups that interrupt your experience or block your access to the "play disc" option. I think its just another way for everyone to have it in their head that MS is greedy. Even when Sony released the PS3 at $599 I still never heard about how they were greedy.

I HATE this new dash even more then the last BS update. What is their problem with scrunching all the info in the middle and having this horrible BLINDING white backgrounds?? The little boxes are BULLSHIT.. I bought a nice big plasma and they insist on making everything so tiny in little boxes?? WTF THIS IS STUPID.

Did I mention i HATE IT?!? Bastards.

Just so you know, you can change the background to whatever you want so it's not just a white wall.

@(Unverified) its because they are trying to make everything look like the Windows 8/Metro style. You can see a similar design in interface for windows phone.
