We've all been there: It's 3 am, the guys you share your tiny studio apartment with are zonked out after a hard day's hack-sackin' down on the quad, but you'll be awake for another 6 hours, at least. Now, thanks to the Tritton Detonator from MadCatz and Microsoft, your bitter, sleep-deprived roommates will only hear the sound of your frantic stick waggling and trigger flicking, as opposed to the gunfire and chainsaws they normally have to deal with.
The Detonator is the first in a series of official 360 headphones, and its $80 entry fee delivers a USB cord, stereo sound, a detachable boom mic, voice monitoring capabilities and an in-line volume control for the whole kit-n-caboodle. Its big brother, the wireless, Dolby 7.1 rocking WarHead, is still reportedly on track for a holiday release, although we expect that model to cost a bit closer to the self-imposed $300 limit MadCatz mentioned when the headphones were announced.

But they will still hear your screams of dominance and/or rage towards your online foes.

I know the feeling of a lust for dominance. And what do all men with power want? More power. ;)

Gamestop has these in already, after comparing them to my Turtle Beach x11s, I think I'll stick to the x11s.

@SirUrza - I bought these earlier this week and already returned them. My x11's are so much more comfortable and the sound just seems more crisp. The Detonators look much better though, but the comfort is a big issue for me.

While Ive owned Tritton headsets I find them, to feel pretty good, and the quality is decent but....My issues lied in the Mics, they would send feedback that I couldn't hear in the headset but my friends and party could. The last set I owned I also had an issue of finding a good level to leave the volume at, I could never dial it in. Ive since upgraded to a Sennheiser headset with Astro Mixamp.

I have Tritton AX PRO and they are the best headset I have ever had. Completely adjustable sound for front, back, center and bass right on the in-line controller. Have very solid build, detachable mic and works for PS3, 360 and PC. Sound quality is top notch even though they only use 5.1 surround. For those of you unaware, the human ear can hardly recognize the frequency difference between 5.1 & 7.1 surround. The AX PRO's have 4 speakers in each ear and it makes a hellava difference. They are a little on the pricey side @ 159.00 but for those of you looking for quality, you can't go wrong. Only complaint is the wires, my god the wires. Another bonus for this headset is that the box can support 2 headsets so you can get around the whole needing 2 xbox live account for both to be able to communicate issue.
For the record, i have owned TB X41 & DPX21's, both had flimsy design and plastic was broke within a month! TB also include NO WARRANTY fotr their headsets! Hrrmmm....Wonder why that is..?
