PSA: Rage is ready for pre-load on Steam right now
73
Have you been feeling acutely cheery recently? Is your constantly joyful attitude destroying your daily life? Do people on the streets gasp in disgust and pull their children away from your positively delighted strut? Then it's about time you got your Rage on -- beginning today, people who pre-ordered Rage on Steam can begin pre-loading it in preparation for its Tuesday launch. Or you could save it all for Tuesday and really feel the hatred as you wait for the 25GB load.

I remember when computers didn't have hard drives.... then one day my father came home and installed this black thing in the front of our 8088 and said "Wow! Check this out. It's called a "Hard Disk" and permanently stays into the computer. We can store things now without having to put in a 5 & a 1/4" disc every time!!
And then my mind exploded. The future was now.

Amateurs! I started with a 100MB one lol. That was when 64MB of RAM in your system was almost unheard of... and that was just my PC... which followed my Amiga 500 (so many fond memories) and C64.

I remember switching from 8" floppies to the 3.5" floppies and thinking that the nearly 3mb of storage could fit virtually anything. But then again, I remember my dad bringing home a 60mb HDD and saying that we'll never have to worry about running out of space again. Those were the days. Sooner or later everyone will be sporting 200tb HDDs and downloading games that are 5-10tb, and those slimey fetuses (feti?) will look back at days like this in wonderment and amazement, telling stories of how they once downloaded a game from an online retailer named "steam" a game that only took 3 hours to download. For in the future, the internet download and upload speeds will not keep up with the size demands of data because they're greedy bastards. We'll still have 2mb/s download speeds simply because the internet companies will refuse to upgrade their infrastructure. hmm, I think I'm going to go buy some brick and mortar game store stock and sit on it for 30 years.

Meh. I had a 10MB HDD on a 8086 IBM. I was 9, my mother worked for an accountant, he was going to throw it away, and I asked him if I could have it. He gave it to me and told me if I fixed it I could keep it.
I did fix it. It had a bad power supply. My dad helped me fix it and that was one of my 1st computers...
It is ironic because that accountant would buy those computers for $8K a piece...

Check your area for TekSavvy cable. They operate on the rogers network and you can get 300GB @ the same bandwidth $10/mo cheaper.
I did and never looked back.

Does anyone if the singleplayer will have any replayability. Or if it will ever get a teamdeathmatch addon. I want this game but if the singleplay is only worth playing through once and all it will have is a stupid vehicle combat multiplayer mode and a coop mode that will also only be fun once.

So far it looks like a graphically suped-up Borderlands to me, so I'm willing to wait for the inevitable Steam sale in a few months.

Same here. Don't flame/downvote me but it seems this is Bethesda's answer to BL since BL was kind of like Fallout.

I feel pretty bad for everyone that has usage caps. Must be rough having a third-world version of the internet.
Of course I have Time Warner, so I'm not much better off...

Mine's 300GB/mo so I never even get close to maxing it out.

The 25GB download is one of the reasons I'm picking it up at retail. That is a quarter of my monthly cap, thanks Rogers!

Man... I wish I had the cash to buy this game, but... I already have a backlog, and I'm saving up for Goldeneye, Uncharted 3, and Skyrim. Plus I need to buy that new Castlevania from 2010...
Oh well... Maybe I'll pick it up when it drops down a bit.
