"Gold Subs" and "Silver Peons" do sound like reject teams from LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE...

Anyway, I must set aside my GEARS3 love for FORZA soon... definitely a good time to be a gamer. :]

Just finished playing it and wow. After two short years they managed to make forza 3 look like a last gen game.

It actually looked a little rough to me, when you get into the actual racing. Way too dark, and a bit rough, i.e lacks anti-aliasing. But then, I am using an LED TV. Everything looks very very dark. I have to turn most games' brightness/gamma all the way up, and that option seems to be lacking in the demo. Hopefully it would solve both grievances to some extent.

This is still a must-buy for me, and I think it still outshines GT5 even in the graphics department. Sorry to bring up Forza vs GT5, but GT5 was a big disappointment for this life-long GT fan after a 6 year wait. Forza rules.

I know what you mean bro, i sunk over 400 hours into gt4 and then played forza 2, became a fan ever since. As for my comment i was talking more in a physics sense, the cars feel so real and the sense of speed is amazing. I think personally the graphics are as good as its going to get on the xbox 360 and considering everything they animated in the cockpit(pagani has the time yo) its a bit flabbergasting . Im racing on an led too and yea its a bit dark, i thought it was just my tv lol.

@bxgt Im with you there. GT4 got me into racing games when I was a kid but Forza 2 and 3 were just incredible, and with GT5 being such a disappointment I'm sticking with Forza.

i think you need to play around with your TV's picture settings lol i calibrated my TV and every in game brightness or gamma thing is perfect on default and i never have to change it

good TV calibration or for the basic just search 'Brightness calibration" on google OR google image

@bxgt Although I like Forza a lot, the sense of speed is much higher in GT4 or 5. GT4 and 5 have pronounced wind noise to add to the sense of speed and the Forza games have little to non.

@bxgt The cars are more unforgiving and they tend to "snap" more if you overcorrect too much just like in real life. All in all its a more realistic driving experience. And the graphics are just gorgeous. I think I spent 15 minutes mesmerized by the light refraction off the Ferrari 458 whilst moving the camera around in AutoVista.

I really love looking at these games. But I'm really terrible at non-arcade racers. I'm just barely competent at PGR3&4.

Those not giving MS money to play games online (something that was free until MS decided to start charging for it and shove ads in your face for the pleasure) have the moral victory.

I'm not sure you quite understand the level of investment in, or the costs involve in the maintenance of, Xbox Live. It is far larger, far more secure, far more rich in content and services than it ever was. Far more so than PSN. It is a premium service, and a premium service requires a premium. Payment for goods and services forms the basis of our economy and our society. If you don't like it you could always move to some barren communist wasteland and live like a peasant.

Google is an advertising company. Their customers are the advertisers, not the end user. Everything that they do, they do to present new advertising mediums.

@Vcize You'd have a point if Live weren't also chock full of ads too.

If Google can offer me the service I have for free by showing me ads, how come Microsoft has to show me ads and charge me?

The answer is obvious. They don't have to. They charge me because they can. People have convinced themselves that somehow they can't get good gaming service for only the cost of seeing ads. They have deceived themselves and I'm uncertain why.

Microsoft, being a smart company are taking advantage of peoples mistaken ideas and taking their money.

Yea it seems a bit poorly thought out when you have to go to xbox.com to see if xbox live or xbox.com is having outages... my school does the same thing: 'To see if asu.edu is down, go to syshealth.asu.edu'... fail...

I had to check the joystiq recent comments to check for an outage haha

Another Forza Demo with no Controller Remapping? This demo continues the trend of Forza Demos getting an F.

Game looks and plays fine, but I when one can't drive for the sake or constantly doubting what the next button press will actually do, a bit gets taken away from the experience.

Okay....I want this game and an MS racing wheel, but they stopped making them? I saw a post about a wheel, pedal and shifter all sold separately, would be like $400 for the thing.

Is that MadCatz wheel any good? Some advice would be welcome.

@Mal F4cti0n They are making a new wheel for this game that works on PC and PS3 as well. It's gotten great reviews so far but it's around the $250 range with no pedals or shifter (has shifters on the wheel though)

@Mal F4cti0n You don't want an MS racing wheel. It is truly awful. It's imprecise, the pedals won't stay still and the clamping mechanism is garbage.

Why even buy this if you own Forza 2 and 3? 3 was already pretty much the same as 2 except for a few new tracks and redesigned UI; seems like this is going to be the same as 3 except a few more new tracks and lower res graphics... with limited kinect integration... hmmm.
