What do you get when you combine the Gorton's Fisherman and Killer Clowns from Outer Space? You get our nightmares (obviously) but now you also get this new media for Payday: The Heist. We guess it's been a rough year for the fishing industry.
Payday: The Heist media gets away with it

So what you're selling me is the opening scene from The Dark Knight, in video game format.
I'll take it.
I'll take it.

Same shit I thought when I saw a chinese-looking guy hoisted away by a cable on an airplane!
Also reminds me of that scene in Green Berets when the vc general guy is hoisted away in an orange jumpsuit .

Game looks sweet, but it's graphics look kinda rough, and I get the feeling people are knock it quite a bit for that.

I too thought about the graphics not being up there, but for a $15 (possibly $20?) downloadable, it'll be the most fun I've had on a PSN game in a long time.
I'd rather have this than wait 2 years for them to bump up the graphics and charge a full $60. Maybe later they can do that...but i'm getting impatient.

I was into this until I saw the first gameplay trailer. I understand that it's just a budget download title, but I just don't see it living up to its price tag.

The games people will pay money for these days...
This is pretty much a Left 4 Dead mod, which in all honesty is a Counter Strike mod. This game should be free if anything. People think that this game and this trailer are epic? ugh.

The only thing that bugs me is this is essentially a shooter where you are gunning down cops, I listened to an interview with the developers and producers on Joystiq's podcast and it sounded great. They were talking about these great hiest movies inspring them and what they made is essentially a siege game where it's cops versus robbers.
My idea behind the game was something a little different, in the really great hiest movies violence is avoided. Watch either iterations of Oceans 11, watch the original Italian Job (and not the horrid recreation,) watch even The Bank Hiest. There is the specter of violence and I could understand it being there if "things go wrong' but I had the impression this was trying to recreate these films from what they said, the reality is much less interesting. It's an objective driven kill box with zero stealth, zero uniqueness, and something that's bothering me is your objective is to kill cops to make money. Not some opposing faceless military, but police officers. I find that a little disquieting. In my imagined game there would be rewards for getting away without raising the alarm, getting away in a car chase with minimal damage. I'm not saying "ban" or "it's evil" it's just not something I'd feel comfortable playing.
It's too bad, I was looking forward to the game I imagined in my mind. Maybe some one will one day make that.

@matrixman92 Actually yes I did, I don't play the GTA games for that reason. Nothing AGAINST people who do it's just not my bag. Don't get me wrong, I'm not of the opinion it's a "cop killer training simulator" it just makes me feel uncomfortable.
Each to their own right? For me it's about narrative context, in Deus Ex I didn't take down a single cop. I only opened up on the soldiers when I found out they were abducting people off the street and had something to do with my character's wife's abduction and assumed death. Within the narrative context it made sense.
This isn't for everyone and I don't resent or feel people "shouldn't" play these games. I think the unfortunate thing for me isn't what this game is (which does bother me having had friends who's fathers worked in law enforcement) but what it could have been. They promise the "challenge of playing through a hiest like in the movies," most hiest movies have violence as a "worst case outcome" but always strive for minimal violence. The idea of being a driver for the getaway, the safe man, a second story man to infiltrate, all these oppertunities for interesting class based gameplay are lost and in the end the game is just another kill box shooter all about getting away with the money without even the oppertunity to play as the cops.
