The Game looks good and the premise would do wonders if it was done in a sandbox environment with interchanging time lines shown here. Love Spiderman; wouldn't mind trying this out but I still await for the true coming of the webslinger and his skyscraper playground.

I am the biggest Spider-Man fan. I've been playing Spider-Man video games since Parker Bros unleashed their game on the Atari 2600 on the Atari. However, I didn't even know this game came out tomorrow and I don't care. Played the first one, hated it. Pathetic . And I suspect this one will be even worse considering it's had about 6 months of development time. I won't even touch it when it hits the WalMart bargain bin in March.
Spider-Man is all about free roam. Either do it right or don't do it at all. You can't release Spider-Man 2 in 2004 and not have enough imagination, technology or intelligent design to beat that benchmark 7 years later? So Spider-Man games peaked 7 years ago? I don't think so. Activision, please just go away for a long, long time and let other people have your licenses. Please.

@Milf Biggenson And what about Web of Shadows? That had Free Roam and was a damn good game too.
Personally, I don't think that you absolutely NEED free roam in order to have a good spidey game. As long as you can have good gameplay and tell an awesome story then I don't see much of a problem.
That being said, I do agree that one of the best features of Spidey 2/WoS was webslinging around a huge city just for the hell of it.

@Kira Blaize I thought WoS was brilliant and personally the best free roam Spider-Man game ever made, however Activison doesn't, as they let Shaba Games go immediately after. Had they let Shaba continue, who knows what kind of epic free roam Spider-Man game we would have wound up with? Could have been the Arkham Asylum equivalent. Instead we get Shattered Dimensions. The only reason that game received decent reviews at all was because of the extra costumes. That's how stupid most gamers are. The game is shallow and linear and terrible but wow, look at all of those pretty costumes!!

@Kira Blaize Web of Shadows wasn't bad but the combat needed more polish. Fighting with the cameras is never fun.

Well the reason why we don't get an amazing Spiderman is because Activision spends all that COD money on more COD games and pockets the rest.
Activision doesn't invest much money into their other developers, they invest it into more COD, they get of other developers they own and get others like Raven Software to exclusively make COD DLC.
The few developers they do let work on other games get a small/half-ass budget to make half-ass games that don't find much success (which will lead to layoffs and/or making COD DLC).

I want to be interested. . . but considering how past Spiderman games have turned out I'm very skeptical.

@ozlacs why are you blaming activision? they aren't making the game. you're getting developer and publisher mixed up.
