Can someone please tell me if Chrono Trigger suffers from the load times on the PSN version that they just uploaded? (I know this is a Crysis article, but since they uploaded this game on the same Playstation Store update I figure I'll ask on here since I can't seem to find the answer anywhere yet)

@Belial

Why would Chrono Trigger have load times? It's an SNES game, it fits in like 16 megabytes.

Doubt they'd upload a SNES game, when they got a PS1 version they can upload ;)

@Raffi256 When they ported it to the PS1, they did a bad job of re-coding the game so it doesn't really have anything to do with the game's size, and It's not like they changed the code for porting it to the PS1Classics. (Not sure what CT has to do with the topic though.)

The PS1 version of Chrono Trigger had terribly long load times for just about every part of the game. It took several seconds to load the menu each time you accessed it.

The Chrono Trigger on the PSN is this same version with the long load times.

Already picked it up on XBLGOD I actually like the story a lot better so far in this game then Crysis 2 plus the game looks pretty amazing. Here is the link to download it definately worth the $19.99 price just make sure you have the HDD space it comes in on the 360 as 4.09gb here is the link yall: http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Crysis/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80245410968

@GTThaAceman hey, so does it have achievement / trophy? yea, crysis 1 is definitely better than crysis 2. also, are u able to roam freely around, choosing ur own path to complete a mission like the pc version? unlike the first one, crysis 2 is kinda linear which somewhat ruins the game.

@nerdydesi1 It was worth it at $60 bucks. It's worth it at $20 (even with the downgraded console graphics). It's an awesome game.

@nerdydesi1 You could always just rent Crysis 2. Then you'll know what Crysis 1 is like.

@nerdydesi1 I've played both Crysis 1 and 2 on the PC. Crysis 2 is a major letdown, ala Devil May Cry 2 to 1. I've played Crysis to death on the PC, played so many custom maps. I'm curious to rent it on my 360 to see how it compares.

@nerdydesi1 Then plug in a controller when you play Crysis on the PC. The game's not going to change a huge amount just because it's on a new platform.

In related news, Crysis is 7 bucks on Steam right now.

In addition, the Crysis Bundle that comes with Crysis 1, Crysis Warhead, and Crysis Wars is 10 bucks on Steam.

For the record... Code Veronica *should*...I remember spitting bullets that game was so damn hard.

At least for me...that last stretch didn't have any ammo and there was 2 or 3 boss fights. To this day I'm fast as lightning with the knife thanx to that damn game.

I miss the Dreamcast :(

Cool, I've been holding off on buying Crysis 2 because I never played the first but 14.99 is just a bit too steep for me especially with all of the games coming out in the next two months. I'll wait for a PS Plus discount/PSN sale.

@APCMice

thats my biggest issue with it.

Crysis came out for PC in 2007
Crysis comes to consoles in 2011 and they expect me to pay $20?

I would of got it in a heart beat at $10, would of thought on it at $15. Btu $20? I dont buy nothing digital at that price - especially not something 4 years old and that I've played once before

My sentiments exactly.

I'm still one of those guys who isn't comfortable paying more than $9.99 for a digital download (only exception being Section 8: Prejudice).

I agree that it is a steep price, but in their defense they didn't have to do a console port at all. Also, this is simply an incredible game and well worth the money.

Seems like console players are the ones getting the deal here.

Don't worry.

If we boycott it long enough, they will have to drop the price.

Too much other new stuff to play than be concerned with a 4-year old game.

What does that have to do with anything? Everything is only full price unless you wait for a sale. The fact that it's on sale right now doesn't change that it's $30 normally.

@ProfessorBonkle

I got the same email, but mine said for Playstation Network.

Odd...I don't own a Playstation.

Anyway, I actually own the game and my PC will run it (Core i7 Extreme, 8GB Corsair DDR3...can't remember the clock, but it was the gaming RAM, some high end for 2009 Nvidia card...too lazy to check the model number), but I'm much more of a console gamer. Ironically, I built my PC to run Crysis in 2009. Bought the game, saw it would run it, and never played it.

I know I can hook my PC up to my TV, but meh.

...and I'm an achievement whore.

It was this line right here that showed you as console gamer, heheh. :D

"It was the gaming RAM" is right up there with 'the youtubes'

No disrespect of course, to each their own. The line was pretty funny though, intentional or not. :D
