I've always have a soft spot for tower defense games (come on pixeljunk where's the sequel to Monsters?) Even though this is a bit more RTS influenced I am still giving it a go. For $7.99 as a Plus member it should offer a lot of value at that price.

Tried this out last night. Thought, as the review says, it was kind of inconsistent in design and implementation but I love the core idea. Gameplay seemed quite one dimensional though, it was really easy to just amass a force and overwhelm one planet at a time.

@vonstalhein Based on the PC version, that gets more difficult to do over time.

@samdu Hmmm might have to give it a try then, probably liked the general ambience enough to enjoy it even if I AM too good for it ;)

Question for Russ or another Joystiq peep: are there any internal guidelines for reviewing a game that's already been out for a while? Just curious, as it seems it's becoming a more common thing, thanks to the prevalence of mobile games and Steam games ending up on another platform.

Anyways, good review - it tells me I'm quite content with my PC copy. No need to buy a PSN version with inferior controls.

I feel like the PC version had multiplayer, but it's been a while.

Sounds like the same concept of Galcon and Mushroom Wars...

Mushroom Wars was pretty fun, although it got ridiculously hard later... but they kept introducing new concepts to keep the game interesting. Anyone now convinced on this game should give it a go.

@Xoonaka Mushroom Wars is a very underappreciated game. People should definitely check it out.

Doesn't the PC version have multiplayer?

@KGameLover1

Would no multiplayer make the game a pass or something?

Eufloria is a really enjoyable little game with some sweet music and fantastic use of colour. One of the better indie games that I have tried.

You know what? I've never noticed that. There are always 'top articles' and such there so I never bothered to look at it.

The PC version went on sale some time after the PS3 version was announced and now I'm regretting it. I tried the demo of the PS3 version and the controls really weren't up to par.
