@Faceless Troll It's what AT&T calls their Digital TV/Internet/Phone service.

@Faceless Troll
U-verse - Underverse
It is the central core of the Necromonger religion. The Underverse is a deathless realm of divine rebirth where pain, discomfort, old age, and suffering have no meaning and no place and it is in the Underverse that life is welcomed and cherished. The Underverse grants great supernatural powers to those who have crossed and/or seen its threshold, as it does to the Necromonger Lord Marshals.

Your Necromonger religion f*cking sucks. What kind of theological system starts requiring an XBox Live Gold subscription to achieve divine rebirth?

Well if their cable service is as good as their wireless service, consider me excited!

Just kidding, f*ck those guys.

I have used their service for a while and loved it. in fact, we went to Comcast 2 weeks ago and they totally botched the install and we are installing uverse again on Saturday. It was better picture quality and each receiver in the house acts as router as well, so you can have wired internet throughout your house running through the cable jacks essentially. Honestly, though it is over-priced, it is much nice than Comcast to me.

pssh, i WISH i had u-verse, simply because i'm sick and tired of dealing with these Time Warner assholes. connections in my area suck balls, and i'm pretty sure Time Warner likes to limit my bandwidth every month. not cool.

So basically my 360 can act as an additional cable box to access "on-demand" content with each provider given the fact that I am a subscriber?

I still don't understand what this is all about....

Currently, instead of using cable boxes you can use an xbox to see at&t cable tv. Now it will necessitate XBL though.

@Duke hopefully they upgrade it to support a wireless connection, the clueless installer who came to my house botched up the wiring and sometimes my xbox receiver gets the jitters...also dvr direct to xbox would be great too.

It already required you to be connected to XBL, not it requires a GOLD account.

wish xbox live would allow silver users to access these services (netflix, uverse, espn, etc) without the 60 bucks a year. love the netflix interface, but when my subscription ran out, was a shock to find out i couldn't watch anymore.

Most of those are probably a similar case to this one which has nothing to do with XBL.

It's AT&T that are requiring you to have a Gold account now.

QUICK, what's the cheapest and shortest time I can sign up for U-Verse? If it's under $60, I'm looking to make a profit.

@ExMcCloud
I made that switch 2 weeks ago and it was a disaster. They forgot the extra cable boxes, gave me no wireless router, couldn't wire the Ethernet jacks to work with their service so I lost wired internet through my house and lost cable on 2 tv's. They then said "good luck" with fixing it when they left. I was stunned. (The guy also spent the whole install ont he phone arguing with a supervisor about how someone slammed a door in his face.)

Then we called them after the installer left and they promised to send the new cable boxes and they still haven't arrived two weeks later- either has the DVR they were supposed to give us to use. It was such a bad experience dealing with them and them essentially leaving us with 1/2 the service we had, that we called AT&T to come and re-install their service. I won't give Comcast another try after this disaster.

Weird. I guess it matters where u are at. I'm in Chicagoland. The odd thing was when I used Comcast in the past their installers were great and helpful - this time around it just went really really bad.

@Duke Use your own hardware whenever possible. The modem and router combo provided by any cable company will be garbage. Invest once in a good set that will last you years and it will save you money in the long run.

From my experience, Time Warner > Comcrap > AT&T

All suck, but AT&Ts offerings are just awful in comparison to an actual cable provider.

shit...good games, frequent deals/sales, party chat w/ friends, and now Kinect support for TV browsing? why the hell would it NOT be worth it? i don't even have a Kinect, but i have to admit that the idea of being able to browse your favorite TV channels with your hand sounds pretty cool. that is, IF that's how they are going to implement Kinect support. at this point that's just speculation on my part.

I love how you have to have a pay service in order to use a pay service. Pay servicecepction.

@FinalFantasyXIIIsucks True, but at the same time, if you no longer want to use your Xbox 360 has a receiver. You can call them and they can setup a regular receiver for $7/mo which is more than a year of gold.

I'd be interested, as Uverse subscriber, if I'd been gullible enough to pay their $100 "set up fee" to use my XBox 360 as a receiver. However, I wasn't feeling like getting bent over and decided to just pay the $7/month cable box rental.

You know what I like most about pay walls? Having a pay wall behind a pay wall!

I seriously do not get the infatuation with Xbox LIVE since I can get everything it offers for free elsewhere at high quality with no ads. Hell, even Microsoft's other sub services, like Zune Pass, are amazing deals... yet people think it's super awesome time to pay $40~$60 a year for peer to peer multiplayer and access to content they already paid for elsewhere.

The only argument I ever really get is because "all my other friends do it."

I just don't get it.

Does anyone here actually pay the full $60 for Xbox Live? If you do you seriously need to look into learning how to use this Internet thing. If you're paying more then $40 a year for XBL then you're not even looking.
